Hello all, I would like to express my anger at this new expansion that is being released this spring. I am done with this game and the company that designed it. Stardock, in my opinion, is greedy. They have charged us for a couple of bad DLC's in the past and now the features we've all wanted.. better planetary invasion, espionage etc.. is going to cost us upwards of $25.00. These features should ALREADY BE IN THE

I think forcing your population to work in one form of production is kind of like communizm in a way and should be penalized. I like that you get an approval hit as well. It would make people unhappy and less willing to work at full pace if they are forced to do something they don't really want to. Increasing coercion makes the game more strategic if you ask me. Nice job guys! Keep up the good work!

ahh so the game isn't intelligent enough to add my missile defense tech to my beam defense tech, I see. I thought it was supposed to be artificial INTELLIGENCE. What was I thinking? Forced to use the ship designer. Not all of us get into that. Some just want to play. If I have a ship with 73 beam defense and I research point defense technology, it would make sense to ADD the defense tech to the ship so now I have 73 beam defense and

Has anyone had this happen to them in late midgame / early lategame? I go to build one of my large hull beam defense monsters and no ship in the list has any beam defenses all of a sudden! I seen this happen to a guy playing a walkthrough on Youtube as well, all of a sudden he had no beam defense. Now it just happened to me. I have researched up to the "devastating beam weapons" part of the tech tree and POOF! all beam defense reads 0 on all ships

Thank you all for your responses... Hmm.. That is probably what I did, I likely assumed that I could outfit the ship with weapons and save the design as a template for future use while being able to use the ship I just made. A warning message would have helped. "Saving as a template will not allow you to build this ship." or something to that effect. I guess I assumed it saved the ship and it's weapons and such but when clicking "save as template" it

Thanks for replying... It is a custom race. I have only put researched weapons on the ship(s). Pulse cannons, field generators, kinetic augment, twin Ion drives, interstellar life support etc. All the stuff that shows up that I know I have the tech for. Perhaps it's something to do with custom races? This happened 3 times now. Once with a missile ship, once with a missile survey ship and now with a kinetic medium hull ship. T

Hello all, I had this happen to me a couple of times now and I'm getting fed up. In the middle of the game, after researching some weapon tech, I go into the designer and spend an hour building a new ship with these researched techs. After clicking "save" and giving it a name and description and saving everything, I go to my shipyard to begin cranking out my hour of work. UH OH! The ship is not there! I go back into Designer and it

You need a descent sized page file for this game. Even if you have tons of RAM you need a page file. Set your "virtual memory" to "System Managed Size" or set a custom size of MIN= 1.5 times installed RAM and MAX= 2.5 times installed RAM. This will stop memory issues. The game can fill RAM rather quickly and the PC needs to unload some of it to a page file. Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Settings button under "virtual memory
With morale I'm the opposite you don't need buildings for high morale just expand.
I'm at 19 planets, dead last in approval with all planets 95% or higher in approval. Here's what else I don't get, I'm also 3rd in population. Now the 1st place and 2nd place civs have LESS planets than me by far and me and my 19 planets somehow have less population than their 7

I hear ya about the AI parking it's ships in your territory. In my game, the Thalans have fleets all over my influence zone and when asking them to leave, they say "I'm sorry, I will have the ships leave immediately" or something of that sort. A few turns later, still there! They won't leave and they're parked all over my planets, starbases and shipyards! I'm infested with alien bugs!

I get annoyed by this too... I expand rapidly early game, colonizing everything in sight. I build lots of ships early and place them in orbit around these planets/shipyards/starbases. I have specialized planets pumping out tons of production. I have 17 planets now and a descent Faction Power score. That is until I run across the Iridium who have nearly QUADRUPLE my Faction Power score with LESS planets than me. All of my planets have 95% approval or

Wow... I came here to report an issue, not get into a technical argument. I have 20 years of C++, Java, and web programming experience, I've written 3 video games and an engine. I'm not going to argue the definition of a bug. This will be my last post on the topic so here's my bottom line... Does the editor name your home star correctly? Answer: NO - It names the star exactly the same name as the homeworld. In my case, &

A star name being the same as a planet is a bug. caused by incorrect or incomplete implementation of what is supposed to be an "editor." An editor that does not allow you to properly edit the home star system. It names the system incorrectly. This is a bug.

First you say it's not a bug, then you say it's possibly an oversight by the devs which is precisely what a bug is. Stardock claims this is a "sandbox" mode. So that means if I want giant spiders from Betalgeuse and force a star named Sol, then they would cease to be giant spiders from Betalgeuse and become giant spiders from Sol. That's what sandbox is supposed to be, freedom right? So let me get this straight.. I can create my own race, &nbsp

I have this exact same problem... Create a custom civilization with the in-game civ creator. Save the race. The homeworld name is fine but the star's name is the same as the homeworld's name. I subscribed to a custom race in the workshop (United Earth Republic race) and used that. It is an alternate Terran race. The homeworld is set to "Earth" and the star system is set to "Sol" but upon starting a new game as this civ, my star's
