If you're on autopilot, and engage in combat - once you finish combat you should continue the autopilot as well. Very annoying to exit combat and have to restart.
Literally EVERYTHING cancels autopilot, including opening the manifest or map. It's definitely starting to drive me nuts.

It's a fantastic game so far. Well done. You've done a remarkable job honoring the tradition of its predecessor.
Is there a reason why Critters don't show up on planet scans when all the other resources do? I assume, in the absence of Melnorme, the "Critter Meat" will serve some purpose I haven't ascertained yet. I note that I can't sell it in any of the trading menus (same with drone parts). It's not worth roaming a planet to find all the critters without them showing in the HUD in general, but especially if there's no point to collecting them.
Just like when I first got Star Control 2, I spent most of the day playing yesterday. The experience is great and I love the game. EXCEPT... When I'm travelling through Hyperspace, and I have a destination plugged in, ANY interruption kicks me out of the navigation route (including, I believe, opening my menu) and I have to go back and figure out what star I'm going to and plug it back in. Normally, this would be just a nuisance, but last night it happened to me in Scryve space, an

I think it's too early for anyone to be choosing a perspective or opinion already. I am a professional at this, though! ;)
Hi guys, Sorry, am I missing it somewhere? I know the release date got moved back from November, but is there any projection on when we'll see the full game? Very much looking forward to it.
As I've said all along, Paul and Fred have been selfish and disinterested in giving the fans of this franchise what they want for my entire adult lifetime. And now they're doing this. They made a great game, but it doesn't entitle them to be a-holes about it. It's sad enough that other game designers had to do what they were making excuses for not doing all this time.
You know, I've been ignoring Star Control 3 since the minute I finished playing it. I was 19, money was hard to come by, and I realized I had wasted mine on a sequel that had precisely NONE of the magic I had grown up with. Also, I just got done playing Super Melee for the first time, and all I could think was, "Dear Lord, how I want to play the original ships in this engine." You've captured the feel so well. I want to go BACK to what made SC awesome. Personally, I don't want a
Brad, really the main thing I'd like to hear your philosophy on, I posted in a different thread, but I'm adding here because it matters to me more than anything else that's still outstanding (since you've already nailed the basic foundations): It's what I'm always referring to - whether it be asking about "mysteries" or "hand-holding" or the "quest system" or "map markers" or whatever - I finally have a good example:
Hi everyone! Bit the bullet and hopped on board as a founder yesterday, hoping for some sweet, sweet Beta (Alpha?) love. A bit about me: Star Control I was the first computer game I absolutely, completely fell in love with. I must have been maybe 12 at the time, visiting some family friends during summer vacation, and they had it on their computer. I sat in that little air conditioned den (AC was a luxury for me in those days) for the better part of three days straight,
