I think a SC1 type of game could be a MMO of some sort. I would love to join an Alliance of Free Stars fleet and help battle for supremacy of a star cluster. But I think it's probably a project to consider after a single-player adventure game, because SC2 is what everyone seems to miss the most.
Hi there, I'm also super happy there's a new SC coming. I just wanted to add that the most interesting Star Control aliens to me were the ones that looked nothing like the life we're used to seeing on Earth. Species like the Chenjesu, the Mmrnmhrm and the Mycon really captured my imagination because they were totally alien. Perhaps when designing new SC aliens it would be fun to explore totally different biologies for species that would have evolved on high
