Activision and Spyro might not be the best example to use. Technically the same studio has owned them since their creation. Universal just went through a string of corporate buy-outs which ended with them in Activisions hands. The IP was never individually sold as Universal owned it, not Insomniac, they were only contracted by Universal to create the game. I do get the main point tho. Will Stardock be helping Fred & Paul with distribution or will their parent company be doing that? If Activision aren't involved and it's their own project they have been given the green light on couldn't they go to anyone for help or is it a tricky subject? Also, already planning two adventures, is this going to be post launch DLC, or possible directions for sequels if Origins does well? It sounds like you will give this the love and attention to detail it deserves, and talking to Fred and Paul about it and seeing if you can get them on board with the project gains you even more respect from me and the other Star Control fans I would imagine.
