Activision and Spyro might not be the best example to use. Technically the same studio has owned them since their creation. Universal just went through a string of corporate buy-outs which ended with them in Activisions hands. Will Stardock be helping Fred & Paul with distribution or will their parent company be doing that? If Activision aren't involved and it's their own project they have been given the green light on couldn't they go to anyone for help or is it a tricky subject? Also, already planning two adventures, is this going to be post launch DLC, or possible directions for sequels if Origins does well?
