The reboot of StarControl will be from the point of first Chenjesu contact to the beginning of SC1. It will have to not rely on any of the previous games and should preferably not interfere with existing lore. Why not make the beginning point a little bit earlier? Start 2085 instead of 2112. Players new to the universe would have easier time playing a Humans? Why not play as Humans+ ? I want to suggest Androsynth as protagonists. They already had Hypers

@ Tjashen - you can have your side of the fight be controlled by an "awesome cyborg" and put the enemy on the "weak", pretty much guaranteeing your victories without much participation.
Timeline on the wiki - http://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/Timeline So the time period is 2112 (Chenjesu contact) to 2130 (several years before Earth is slave-shielded) or only to 2116 (formation of the Alliance) Because it is set BEFORE SC2, there can be no new information on the Milieu or Precursors, otherwise this information would have been known to Humans of SC2. I think that upgrades via "Precursor datapads" like in SC1 could be a nice addition. With the difference of them being an inventory item - meaning transferrable between ships. I didn't like the "research and upgrade everything" they did in SC3. About the combat itself, I think I'd like to play one ship versus several enemies, but the rest of the ships will be like power-ups to your current ship. For instance having Yehat or Utwig will lower your damage taken, because they can
