How about this analogy? Remember that show, Amazing Stories? Each Star Control game is like an Amazing story but here, they loosely tied together. There is a Star Control universe and in that universe you have the Ur-Quan and and Spathi but you also have the Scryve and also the aliens in Star Control 3. The DC universe has lots of things like that with things like the Watchmen and the Justice League existing in different universes but they all exist under the DC Universe.</p

I don’t envy you the balance act. Do you have a rough idea of how many people know of Star Control already versus the people who will be new? It begs the question, why did Stardock acquire Star Control if most people haven’t heard of it? What was the benefit since you aren’t relying on the SC2 lore?
I've been following the P&F's blog. They are in no position to complain about being insulted. Stardock has handled their rantings with a delicate touch and in response been slapped in the face.
