For me I would love a game where you can evolve your ship in the way you like it. For instance I loved the dynamics of a very old and now gone mmorts called shattered galaxy. your player had the following attributes Tactics :- allowed you to control more units Clout :- allowed you to upgrade units aka mk1mk2, which basically upgraded the baseline stats speed etc before equipment. Education :- is your research and allowed you to equip better

I like the design I think giving the worlds odd unique things won't harm the game as it gives the gamers fresh looks from in space, "hmm this world looks way different to the last, I wander what the exploration be like ?" its great way to keep the game fresh looking and hopefully encourage the gamer to explore more.

I Like Planet Exploration but do agree it needs to be done "right" I didn't mind ME1 exploration for the first time around but on other play through?
