v3.03, I believe, but also previous 3.0 builds, when receiving the Mysterious Hardware, which ends with the phrase "advance our technological studies by leaps and bounds," there is no change in research level. I'm not sure if this is working as intended or reflects a bug. Curiously, K O U

---and in a similar "game setup control" vein, in response to the "neutered pirates" situation (my support post here: https://forums.galciv3.com/482122/page/1/#3670120 ), perhaps we could have a dropbox in game setup for Pirate range, in addition to Pirate Base frequency. It represents a performance hit, but no more than many of the other setting choices. KOU
With the release of 2.0, Pirates appear to have gone from a real concern for unarmed ships (at game start) to periphery-inhabiting hermits. In addition, the "Pirate Bases" frequency settings appear to have very limited effect on how many of these non-game affecting bases appear at the edges of known space. Are these documented, purposeful changes, a side-effect of other changes, or a bug? Curiously, KOU
In the same way that we can control the appearance of habitable, anomaly, mega events, &c, Precursor world rarity would be a logical inclusion in the game setup dialog. Perhaps down to the ability to explicitly state there should only be one, which could lead to a king-of-the-mountain style game.
I'd like to think that as I've seen that with changes to the Hyperion structures, but unfortunately nothing had changed in my capacity between visible and not-visible. This was inside the same game, with no modification of capacity-affecting structures in between events.
Is this a known bug or perhaps unique to this game or my whacky Krynn naming scheme? I've never had ship designs disappear before. This particular game, the Krynn are naming each ship with a prefix of [Roman Numerals][hyphen]. Most of my designs stick, but now that I'm up to XIX-[descriptive name], the designs are disappearing more frequently. If I try to recreate them in the designer, I get told that the ship name already exists... is this a new bug introduced with 2.
I have race overlap happening regularly in the UP voting screen, where one or more races' squares will overlap with others-- is this a design choice, showing me some form of relational information (i.e. overlap = friendly with overlapped races) or just a bug in the UP display?
FWIW, I'm also seeing the same behavior. What's particularly frustrating is it appears to book my hopeless retirement games, but not my glorious victories. I'll try a reinstall and report back.
[GC3 is a great achievement, even as it stands now at v1.11. That said, the forum section title is "Future ideas," so I'll bury Caesar now.] The map features as they exist now are not especially interesting; you basically have places you go, and all the nebulae, features, and cloud types which are avoided barring a handful of rare tactical reasons for entering them. I think these might be low-hanging fruit: -Cloud LOS delta: no matter your sensor range, nebulae hex
I'm seeing the same behavior with multiple 65 of 25 pop planets. In addition, my approval remains pegged at 100% on these YOR superworlds. It's entertaining, but seems like an unintended advantage.
