I bought star control origins a year or two ago, played it for a few hours, really enjoyed but haven't touched it since. Recently though, I've wanted to visit the game again and play through it. But I can't launch the game. The play button is grayed out on the launcher and I don't know why. I've validated the game files on Steam and recovered 1 missing file, still doesn't work. Does anyone know why?
Sorry to hear you are having trouble. <

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Could you provide some video on your main issue(s)? If not, and and at the very least, if you could upload a save that showcases the issue to a cloud drive service (Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive) and post a link here, we will take a look at it thereafter. Thanks for the report and support. ---------------- Sean Drohan Stardock Customer Service Manager

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I would like to start with having you delete your settings.ini from: \Documents\My Games\Star Control After, skip using the Galaxy Client and try running StarControl_DX11.exe from the current install directory directly (again, with the Galaxy Client closed). It should be in: \Star Control - Origins\Game with a bunch of its other files (don't mind that my screenshots are in Steam, you should
I have been having crash issues with Star Control and there are 4 critical errors that happen before you get the faulting module error that crashes the game. Windows tries four times to fix an error which fails and then you get the faulting module error which crashes the game due to Windows not being able to resolve an issue. Might have a lot to do with the truth table on program. For Persons that have AMD Systems I would recommend that you use AMD

Hello VuxHunter, Continuing on PShaw's questions, I would like to have you see if the FAQ here: https://forums.starcontrol.com/491043/star-control-origins-support-faq And specifically, the ' -Page File Setting ' entry, helps at all (if you have it set to something other than 'Windows Managed'). Please let us know and thank you for your feedback. ----
Since the workaround is only temporary, I am in agreement with @bignick277 that a fix is still needed.
It's not meant to be a fix, just need to know if the test is repeated (by you all) that indeed the problem is gone - knowing this will help with a resolution. Thanks for your feedback and help here. ---------------- Sean Drohan Stardock Customer Service Manager

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having trouble.
Even that I tried fixing a crash problem with making 5096 memory. Nothing helped.
Please, for testing DO NOT limit your page file / virtual memory (if that is what you mean here). Please see the FAQ here to see how to set to let Windows itself manage it: https://forums.starcontrol.com/491043/star-control-ori

As for MP's usefulness, I have said it a thousand times: If anyone that has more than 1 PC used MP, they would wonder how they ever did without it. I could not do my job without it, myself. Hello Prodofvoid, Sorry to hear you are having trouble. WIth it happening on two different PCs, with different video cards, logic has us wondering if there is a common 3rd party app / setting on each. If you do the 'clean boot' detailed here, does it have it so you can run the game on either? https://forums.starcontrol.com/491043/star-control-origins-support-faq -------
I am still one very unhappy customer!
Totally understandable, Willag_mac. We are also eagerly awaiting the results of working with NVidia to resolve the issue. In its stead, lower settings has seen many lessen the issue's frequency and impact. We are investigating a rare crash on some systems using NVIDIA display drivers (which you have). If you receive this error, restarting the game usually resolves the issue. In the rare event that restarting doesn’t address the issue, playing the game at 1920x1080 resolution or lower graphics settings may provide a temporary solution. I have posted a settings file in the FAQ that may help: <a href="https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=https://forums.starcontrol
