A friendly empire came to me today and asked for the technology to produce Entertainers. I don't mind trading the tech, but it's valuable. I'm not giving it away - so I declined the request - fearing that the friend might think less of me. I then went back and offered a trade deal, offered Entertainers and Star Federation and gained 75% of this vastly superior civilization's technologies and enough money to get out of debt - after all, as I mentioned in a previous post - I fell into deficit s

I see what happened. Instead of having the triangle slide between wealth, research and manufacturing, they gave us deficit spending. Production does NOT come to a complete halt like it does in vanilla GC3, instead it continues at base production levels. Haven't figured out yet if the factories shut down and population keeps working, or if population goes on strike while the colony capital continues production. Either way, you're not frozen - only penalized - if you're balance is negative. You
The email address registered to this account no longer exists. How do I change it?
The economic balance triangle no longer seems to exist I only get a report - and the report shows that my civilization is heading for deficit. Is there a way to raise taxes or adjust production that I haven't discovered in the past 4 hours of play?

Props for this suggestion. I'd pay for another DLC to have this.
There has been a patch to the game concurrent with the release of the Crusade expansion, although I don't have the Crusade expansion (yet). Have there been any changes to the "vanilla" GC3 that we should know about? I haven't been able to find any answers through all the Crusade marketing push.
I second the idea of being able to move structures.
Sounds like a skill set to me. You want to put a megafactory on a gravity control barge and float it across the ocean? It's no gimme.
In my last game I wanted to try for a conquest victory, but along the way, I allied with two races to keep them pacified while systematically beating the other two races into submission and annihilation - and just as I attempted to attack my nearest ally to keep the game running, I couldn't. I couldn't break the alliance and ended up with another peaceful victory. Disappointing. Bottom line: I want to be treacherous sometimes and make alliances to break them lat
It may not be that they are gaining, but rather you are losing. The "Trading Resources" for military give you additional Mass, so if you design a ship while you have that resources, then either trade it away or lose it back (after getting it in trade form other) it will adjust your mass.
Nope. That did not happen. I haven't traded any resources nor lost them due to conflict in this game.
Issue: This is a bug, but I think I've got the problem identified. The issue is newly designed ships changing mass after their design is implemented and in production. When it happens: Somewhere between game log-off and game log-on. Technology is usually high enough for Large and Huge hull designs. I haven't seen it happen in early gametime. What happens: Ship design disappears from build list. I found the missing ships when I toggled "Show ships that are over mass." (
Adjacency bonuses for the DR/TDA/PR are pretty much irrelevant. And having to have a given specific resource is indeed a good idea. But they not well balanced - before this latest patch, they were of very dubious worth in any case, and now, they're stupidly Overpowered. What is important is the +8 bonus it gets to the base, and then the +1 bonus for each level of the DR. Both are *massively* overpowered, because, as
Forgot to mention in my wishlist: when using the governor to upgrade all ships of a certain type, Need to report how much it's going to cost before you give the final command. Oh, the debts I have accrued with that command. So far my biggest debt was in excess of 112,000 credits. I would not have done that if I thought it would tank my economy for so long!
1. Just like we have a button to "Clear All Planetary Focuses", can we have a button to "Clear All Planetary Projects" so that older planets can report in when there are available upgrades that need to be installed. Otherwise, we have to go planet by planet every so often to keep them up to date. 2. Set surveyor and explorer ships to: Priority-1) stay away from each other unless otherwise commanded. Priority-2) Search out the nearest undiscovered system. Priority-3) Target fogged(FoW)
These suggestions are for unarmed scout ships only, and not for any other class of ship that may be set to explore. 1. Please make scout ships target unexplored stars as a priority ahead of the exploration of empty space. 2. Compel them to fly away from other scout ships of their own faction to avoid the duplication of effort in exploration.
That's correct. But replacing one of the default governors? I don't understand why you'd have to do that, but if it's the only way, my vote would be to replace the wealth gov. I seem to remember having custom governors in GalCiv II, where I could just choose my default start-up options for every planet. Perhaps the Devs would consider adding something like that in a future update. I miss having those options. I recently went to the Nexus looking for mod
I don't know if this has been discussed yet or if there's a mod for it - I don't spend much time in the forums. I would like to see a new governor type that optimizes a planet that is located - or that you anticipate could be located - in a war zone. He top 3 foci would be Manufacturing, Planetary Defense, and Population Size & Growth.
(Steampowered, WinXP SP3, 3.25GB RAM, Dual Core 2.2 GHz) Perhaps it's not a bug and I'm missing something? I've defeated all the monsters and killed the boss beast, visited all the lairs and graveyards, yet the territory is still locked out against settling. The quest says I need to clear all the scarred tiles. I'm not sure I have. Do the scarred tiles look any different from the rest of the forest? Is it because I used 2 or 3 separate armies? Is it because I b
No mods. However, right after posting my last comment everyone got their stuff back. Seems to be working fine again!
exiting and restarting the game helps me as it doesn't happen to me very often.
This is a persistent problem. Exiting and restarting have no effect. The customized opponent sovereigns suffer from the same afflictions.
2 bugs to report from my most recent game: 1. At the end of a game, Spell of Making coincided with an advancement in research (Alliances). The two processes clashed and caused - not a crash - but an impasse. I was stuck in the research screen while the first of the sound effects of a SoM victory played. It then just stopped and I could not proceed. I had to deliberately crash out and reload the last autosave and change the research before doing the SoM victory. 2. My custom so
I just updated to 0.98. My custom sovereigns have all apparently made a visit to the Bastille in protest of the increase of production costs. Let the picture speak for itself. EDIT: Soooo.... the picture thing is not working for me. On the sovereign selection screen, it shows my custom sovereigns decapitated and wearing only their default undies.
