Upgrading military. in War of Magic Elemental Forums

Maybe I missed it in the manual, in GalCiv2 you could upgrade your older units to the new unit type - is this possible in Elemental?

A suggestion to the Developers of this game: saving and heroes. in War of Magic Elemental Forums

First off: with saving, any chance of you all putting the game turn number into the save game descriptions? Second: do heroes only come in standard humans? I haven't noticed no Fallen race heroes/champions in the games I've played.
