New hardware with new feats & possibilities. Isn't it just logical to utilize those in the 2D desktop? Shadows, new Fx, transparency, etc I say make WB (and WinFX) use it!!! I agree with people above that WB could mimic XP on Win9x. Now make us recreate Longhorn Glass on XP.
