well I still use html and css, though with a small amount of javascript, (though you can happily navigate my site with JS off, it just looks a little prettier with it on). I still rely on a text editor and the w3c html validating service (though some of my pages don;t validate at the moment!) in the main, though I have been known to use 1st page 2000 from http://www.eversoft.com/ which is a good html editor which you can make do as much of the work as you want, has a preview facility li

mandrake is a great distro fro anyone who is new to *nix. To be honest, as a skinner, and wrt GUI, your choice of window manager is more important than your distro.
Coordpad does exactly what you want: http://www.teknidermy.com/issue4/artcpv4.html

hey Ashby-de-la-Zouche had cult status with me and my swife and some other of our universitiy frineds for a long time. We visisted there one day. It has a castle and some nice pubs. And a crisp factory (thats potaot chips for you americans). Said factpory was the initial reason for its cult status. WQe used to have competitions in pubs trying to name the place of manufacture tof the snacks behind the bar.... hours of fun .....
Here we are: 3D Flash Animator. I've not used it, but looks ok. I imagine it's not as fully featured as the real thing, but it's US$49.95 and there's a free demo download: http://www.3dfa.com/

deadman, most of the programs here work with win 9x (I've used a lot on 95 as recently as a week ago). The best thing to do is click on a skin section, and then on the 'website' link for that product. that will soon tell you whethjer the program runs on 98. However here's a list of some that I'm 99% sure DON'T run on win98: CursorXP Dashboard Pocketblinds

OK two quick additions to the hints for this tutorial: When it comes to the gradient in step 2 - set the gradient tool options to: Blend - FG to transparent Gradient - Bi linear Repeat - Triangular Wave Then draw a small horixzontal line about a quarter of the width acrooss your flag and the gradient will appear as he's got there... When he talks about the liquify filter and the Warp tool, I'd use the ripple filter and the iwarp filter... You'll probab

Another tip: A lot of photshopss functions appear to popup when tools are selected, for the Gimp, double click on the tool in the toolbox to see a full list of options which will generally correspond to the photoshop ones. Ah and when I said 'Image->etc' above, I mean 'right-click on the active image...' Hope all this helps.
Here's a photoshop tutorial for making a flag: http://robouk.mchost.com/tuts/tutorial.php?tutorial=flag You'd be surp[rised how easily photshop tutorials adat to Gimp tutorials.... Main hints for conversion: -- when they talk about Ctrl-clicking a layer, it's the equivalent of the Gimp's Image->Layers->Alpha to selection -- When they talk about Ctrl-D, it's the equivalent of Gimp's Image->Select->nothing. Don;t forget you can assign any keyboard shortcut to any Gim

HuronJoe, there are many ways to participate in this site/community. There's no need to apologis for what you perceive to be a lack of participation. There's no need to comment on a thread that doesn't interest you, and not everyone enjoys skinning... in fact, imho the most valuable contributors are the people who download, as most skinners are happy to know they're skins aree nbeing used. To be super-appreciated though, all you need do is one extra thing, and thats comment on the skins you enjo
/me grumbles about how there were already way too many things to skin in WB 2.

Actually, technically that's not true. My life won't be complete till I die.
And when Steinberg finally release a version of Cubase with OS X compatability my life will be complete.
