I really like this whole Hyperspace theme. Really gives the good nostalgic feeling while making it fresh :) Now waiting to see how can you get me this amazing nostalgic feeling again with the "space base commander" theme :)

This is actually a great idea. Maybe not an ongoing thing but several of these "boss battles" on different (side) quests other than the main quest. These bosses can also reward you with unique tech/weapons/ships so it will worth looking for them and doing these missions.
Good, actually I don't like timed quests as well and it will be great not the "have to" do them.

I think that you are right, but, he has a point... It should be cartoonish styled but a more mature one (and not a Spore-like designs). Cartoonish style is very good as long as it feels like I'm looking at a "serious" thing and not a kids game... I really hope it will be like this at the end.
