My favorite part is that all the rooks actually probably got a fair amount of favor for winning Deaths, Participant, and one of them got Structures for killing his own citadel! Amusing that the favor points system considers these guys (all of whom but one had 40 points) to be "better" than some opponents I've had in hourlong games who ended up with 10 or 15 points! Pretty amusing that you can get such coveted awards as "damage" and "structures" simply by gnawing your own Citadel till it falls
3. Please abandon the idea that 2v1 will ever be fair. If the 2 have played more than two games they will win. A good team of two players can beat any number of lesser players. It doesn't scale down from there. Please stop trying to make it work. Show me twenty games of Domination where one player beats two and I'll
One can only assume he once continued: " Delete the rest of this sentence!" Seriou

Darvin, I think your main problem is that you've resigned yourself to being a "slow Demigod", at least from what I can tell from these posts. Even if you're playing as Rook or QoT or one of the Demigods with a low initial move speed, you can still get pretty zippy with only a few items to upgrade your speed--particularly the Wand of Sped for a quick dash down to capture the Gold flag, or to run away after locking it. Remember that players of "fast" demigods like UB have gotten *used* to being

Right, this should totally be in. Honestly... maybe you guys should just go see all the stuff one can do with a Steam friends list, and then... put that in. That's pretty much easier than listing all ths specific benefits ;). Seriously though, being able to join a friend's game is the most important. And being able to see easily which games are hosted by friends.
Not a bad idea at all. But increasing the cost of the original gold upgrade would just cause less people to buy upgrades at all, and it seems to be that most people shirk responsibility in this subject.
Good point, I was mostly just saying that would be a possibility if for some reason the math worked out for it to be the best idea, but I'll leave that up to other people who actually know the balance behind the numbers they thro

This isn't directly related to helping out the OP, but I was hoping he (or one of the many smart Rook players here) could help me with a question. When Rook dies, do his towers also die instantly in the way that a General's minions do? Because I played a game with a tower-Rook ally and his towers seemed to be constantly pinning the enemy back in their base despite that fact that he wasn't that good and spent a lot of the time dead. Honestly I may have just not been paying attention (you might

From what I hear, level 4 Unclean Beast venom spit does more DPS than max level uproot to buildings, which is just silly. Of course in this case the change that should be made isn't to nerf Spit by making it unable to target buildings, because that would make UB nearly useless against buildings, which would be extremely detrimental to his ability to help the team at all other than by stealing kills from them--which nobody wants. What should be done is that Uproot needs a larg

Obviously we're all aware that the first gold upgrade is currently the only one worth it, but when you think about it, wouldn't it be better if the upgrades got more worth it as you progressed through them, instead of worse? People talking about changes tend to just pick some numbers they think look good, but if anybody is going to do the math (Not it!) we really ought to figure it out so that the second upgrade pays for itself faster than the first (but costs more), and the third fa

1. It's shift-enter if I recall correctly. No idea if the game tells you, I just happened to try it from that being a similar key combo in other games, so no worries about not discovering it yourself. 2. No idea, haven't tried Skirmish much myself. Custom games tend to be full of actual people most of the time these days, fortunately, so it's probably worth your while to try them until the auto-matchmaking is better. 3. You earn your favor points individually that are listed a

Yellow Wizard IS ABOUT TO DIE. But seriously, I would not mind this option. It's the reason I almost always play this game with headphones on, because it's just too silly to be broadcasting all that shouting around the whole house. :P

Master Shake, you might want to actually read the responses people have given in Agent of Kharma's thread , because it seems that he hasn't. Wand of Speed is a trinket for 1250 that gives you a 25% increased movement speed buff for 8 seconds, I play as UB and anytime I've seen somebody use one they get away from me faster than I can react. Against DGs who can stun like UB, Erebus, Sedna, or even Rook, teleporting is not the optimal way to escape, as an interrupt leaves yo

I really like the idea of being able to make your own Favor items, also the topic of normal custom items was discussed extensively during the beta in this excellent thread .

Wow. This idea is totally awesome and zany, I approve. Also: I haven't played chess for like 12 years, and I'm sure my chess teacher would be rolling over in his grave (except that he's not dead) because I can't remember what en passant is. Something to do with pawns and I forgot it a lot even at the time. Yay for Wikipedia! I can see why it would be difficult to get that working!

As many others have said, it's an excellent idea! Especially because these items would be available from your base and always on you to upgrade, it would save the time and hassle of returning, and give a losing team a fighting chance because they could upgade their weapons (as opposed to now when they have artifacts and you don't so you lose, or have 50,000 gold saved up by the time you retake the artifact shop.) I'm in the "100 replies, therefore it has to be implemented" crowd.

I don't see why it doesn't just return you to the lobby you were in when you joined up after the game is over. Left 4 Dead does this and it works out really well for continued play, with a similar amount of players. Moreover, if it did that you could just exit the lobby and be ready to join a new game, wheras the current system means you have to go through all the menus again to find a game. Rather strange.

Rather than having the devs spend their time mining through the site for information that isn't going to tell them as much as playing the game themselves, you might want to share a few ideas and experiences from the game that you think would be useful for them to know, and how those ideas could be applied to Demigod. Just to make it easier on these folks who have be working 70 hour weeks trying to get the game working. :D

Instead of a full-on "Cancel game" you might just want to do what they've done in Left 4 Dead, a "Return to Lobby" option, so you can easily pick up some new folks and continue to the game ASAP. As far as I've experienced it in that game, people tend to be really good sports about it and the vote almost always goes through. Great ideas though.
I still think he's deadly early game. Those spits DO take a toll on your HP. When I have tried to chase one, the UB is usually close enough to his towers that I really can't stand toe to toe and chase him anyways. Playing as the Rook at least. 99% of the UBs I player just spit and kite early game. Now I haven't gone up against the UB with EVERY Demigod, so I can say for sure anything is broken or overpowered. Howerver, for a Demigod that has

I concur. It's really strange when you want to banter about the end scores and stuff and then suddenly you're back on the very first main menu... after the game is the best time to add people to your Friends list too, so it's sad to miss out on the opportunity if you can't remember their name. I know Steam has a list of people you've recently played with, does Impulse?

Heheh, I paid like $210 for the Collector's Edition and Founder's Offer for Hellgate London, that game has so much potential that it sadly failed to realize. In other news, I knew that Demigod would either be an excellent game or a really disappointing one, and couldn't tell which at all from the videos, which surprisingly make the game look a lot more boring and confusing than it is. I'm sure they were made during the 10 minutes the devs had free at the time, but I still get a kick out of he

Personally I go for basically the spit/ooze/grasp build described above, but I don't feel that it excludes melee lategame at all, as I can easily max out Inner Beast and Bestial Wrath by the late game, which is pretty much all you need to murder folk right up, with artifacts of course. Although it doesn't have much build info, I also made an Unclean Beast thread over here that talks a bit more about the non-build part of Beast strategy and his role in the game, which you

I originally made these points in a reply to this thread before realizing that it would probably be more helpful to people to start a new thread on the topic. Essentially, these are my impressions of the UB as someone who plays him almost exclusively, and could serve as a guide for fellow Beast players, but more importantly should address why some people feel the Beast is "overpowered", and help them win against him, as well as investigating the balance issues from a sta
