Just had the same problem, and I tried with pioneers. It's extra frustrating cause I welt straight to dance with dragons just because I found a Dragon Cave there, and died a LOT of times to clean the super hard enemies. Meh, at least now I know it's nothing something I'm doing wrong :P Edit: Just managed to biuld there.
