It was definitely Window Blinds and Object Desktop that had brought me in but I was well aware of Stardock before that. I had picked up some good games through the Impulse desktop client. Seems like not that long ago when I had purchased Demigod, although it was a long time ago. I'm pretty excited to see how all of these "parts" come together. i know I am patiently waiting to see a more grown-up version of my beloved SC1 and even SC2. Very much hoping the experience doesn't change drastically, although some mechanical changes would be well received by me. I am also hoping for a game that is incredibly rich in the canon that has already been created in the legacy, but definitely keeping my eyes open for new things as well.
I would think this was an attempt for us to be able to make our mark on the game. There are names that were approved that I'm sorry to say, are not so great. But hey, that was their choice to not take this seriously. It would have been nice if they would have allowed us to use ' in our names, to give it that somewhat phonetic roll. It's too bad about the steam keys, especially for those of us that have been long-time fans of Star Control and even more so for those of us that got in on the Lifetime Founders Program in November.
