It being a fun read all depends on who you are. Also, I've been wondering something recently. Is it possible to give a bonus for having a one handed weapon and nothing in the other hand?

I'm not sure (no modding skill beyond very simple XML editing), but it might be easier to invest in a USB mouse (with a scroll wheel). It's about the only way I can game on a laptop (I always find the touchpad too limiting, even when I'm not gaming).
Preventing smurfing would probably be a simple matter of having parts require a certain dropship level. That'd be my guess, anyways.
Servo colors seem to be related to the material/quality of the part. Though, it would be nice have the ability to have the weapon hands match the torso color.
I'd be willing to get an updated rerelease of the game, mostly because I recall liking the game enough to play it often.
Actually, I think the movement could do with being faster on 1X. As it is, most of the animations seem kinda slow.
Unless you're playing the battles on higher speeds, the text seems to hang long enough.
Another point, from what I've seen, if you switch between cities while in top-down build mode, it will get "stuck" (solved by a reload/manually changing the view angle). Did not know about the different views. Will have to try that someday.
Regarding the pioneer thing, maybe something like Dawn of War's 'Overwatch' would do the trick. Or perhaps give the ability to build several units at a time (at an increased cost, obviously). Overwatch would enable you to set the city to build a specific unit (until you run out of requisite resources, in any case). The other method could work like the older Elemental games' logistics research that opens up larger unit sizes. Maybe
Seems to have solved itself by simply restarting the game later.
I completely forgot to send those files to you! Sorry bout that. Out of curiosity, what was the problem?
Had the same problem...but the background changed to white/light gray at some point (after a reload, I think).
I believe the files on the LH nexus are the "canons", which are just various chunks of the whole of ΧD (thus, if you've got the full package, you don't need the canons).
I think I've had this happen to me as well. Was playing Commander at the time, and suddenly found out that, after a very small amount of spells, I wasn't researching spells any longer. Reloading the save didn't fix it either. I think it is a bug, simply because another play through worked fine.
I recall seeing something very similar in LH, only, rather than a flame-ish blob, it was a square of land (marked, if I remember correctly, as a city).
It's clearly at least a named NPC, if not a potential PC.
Good thing his PC's death wasn't plot-important, otherwise it wouldn't have worked.
I saw this once, after I used a blizzard scroll. Those units died after either attacking or moving (if they didn't attack).
From what I've seen, you never actually lose the quest items (and, as far as I've seen, they never go into the quest items grouping in the items list)
I think they mentioned something about moving the pikeman to a new building (barracks, iirc) and removing the metal cost. I'm guessing they didn't get rid of the original version.
I think it be interesting, if at level 10 or something, regular units upgrade into an elite version, with a simple talent tree or something.
The caves specifically are called Caves of Fire, just in case you weren't sure. Also, as I found out yesterday, equipping any of the pieces of the crown makes it so the ending quest dialogue does not trigger. I'm guessing (based on the way enchanting works), that the game doesn't see any items/gear in accessory slots. Kinda curious if that is intentional or not.
...If the Jawas looked like that, with the bones and all, they'd be the stuff of nightmares.
Do your custom sovereigns have the cult secrets scrolls?
Bout to move my computer, so will zip later. I did delete the old gfx folder.
