i also have this problem. explorer will just continually stop and restart. even if i unload windowFX and restart it or set it back to default settings it will continue to happen. i will even restart the computer and explorer will start crashing right away without me even touching anything. i have to manually kill explorer and sometimes if i manually kill it and restart it from the command line it will fix it self and sometimes it will only halfway work. like it will let you use any open tabs

yeah for some reason window blinds dosnt agree with WMP, also if youre using windowFX and you have certain things window transparency set when you drag a window it will kill your currently playing video in WMP even if youre playing it locally and not streaming. try using VLC player insted.
You should check and see what other DRM you have installed.
drm wouldnt matter in the case of burning a file to a disk, more commonly you run into problems when youre trying to "rip" from copyright protected media. or trying to play drm restricted media on an unauthorized device.

i would check that i had the latest firmware and drivers for my dvd/cd drive. what type of disk are you trying to make? music, dvd movie, vcd? if you just need to burn data files to a disk alot of times you can right click the dvd drive in "my computer" and there should be an option to enable "drag and drop" burning, which will enable you to just drage the files you want onto the disk itself and burn them that way. also might want to check your reigion coding on your drive and the burn
