Both the impulse_full_setup.exe and the impulse_setup.exe fail. I thought maybe doing a fresh reinstall of everything might help. I suppose I'll contact dell. Thanks.

I did what you said with the registry cleaner. It doesn't appear to have helped, I still cannot install or repair impulse. I am beginning to suspect that it may be an issue with my .Net framework, as I get the same error trying to install .net 3.5 (a particular Just-in-time debugging error, refrencing some sort of IO stream).
