Reply to Which Version? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Thanks for the responses! I went ahead and got the ultimate bundle with the coupon code that was floating around. I loaded up dread lords, but just started watching the turtorials. I was leaning towards going through the campaign. but was wondering if its better just to create a new game and do it that way. Not sure what the differences are, and it doesn't seem as if the tutorial goes into the difference between the campaign and a new game, but i'm only on the 3rd video.

The more and more I read about this game, the more it interests me. I'm pretty sure i'm ready to dive right in, but not sure which version I should go for. I'm completely new to the genre, its been many years since I played any turn based strategy game and never played a space themed one. With that in mind, I'm trying to decide if I should just start off with Dread Lords or get the Ultimate Bundle. If I were planning one play through, are there features from the expansions that I would be mis
