ok... time to outline some distinctions. First of all-Christianity. yes, christians have done horrible things. so has everyone else there. there is a fine line between what a religion may teach and how the "adherents" follow it or twist it to suit their purposes. if you look at medeival europe, there are many more reasons than religion for the things they did, many of which were motivated by greed. Next, on killing off "usless" species existing in only

have fun when your house is robbed, your ATM is bugged, or you're mugged. seriously, though, there is no such thing as an infalliable transaction system for money. if you have it, someone will figure a way to get it. if you're so worried about being robbed, you should probably go for the check, as it leaves a paper trail, can be canceled, and involves the physical transaction of a paper check. unless you're worried that the postal service has it out to get you.

Ahh, string theory... what will they think of next? aside from going with an untestable theory, have you considered one of the alternatives? the term phasing out could be a misnomer for whatever it is the ships are doing. it could also be phaseing into an alternate plane of existance that still interacts with the original one (i.e. real space) a bit (explaining how things can be detected in this state) that somehow allows for FTL travel. it could also be any of

Neutrino: one of the smallest particles, this particle has no mass, however it does contain quite a bit of energy. @ volt-creulerz to my knowledge, neutrinos are classified as WIMPs, or Weakly Interacting Massive particles. they DO have mass, but it is very small. you are correct, however in that they have a lot of energy as they are formed regulary during things like nuclear fusion and are found to be streaming in copious amounts from

i just bought the orange box at a store. when i tried installing it, i discovered that it had no CD key, which is vital to install/register the game. i have contacted the steam support. how long could it take to get a response, and what are the odds of me actually getting a CD key?

Granted. you get your Ford Mustang, only to discover that every country in the world has banned the use of oil products and only use electric plug-ins and green technology. Because you spent all your life savings on the Mustang, you can't get an new car and are forced to live on the streets as your payment plan forced you to sell all your worldly posessions except the car. Living naked on the streets from a car that has no fuel, enviornmental hippies find you and then force

while i and szadowsz pause for a moment from our swashbuckling duel to try determining the winner, i pull out a gun and shoot him. as he is an immortal, he only pauses for a moment in realization that i just shot him. during this moment i put on my backstab-proof coat. note that this is a metaphorical backstab-proof, though it will work on the literal variety. after doing this i apologize for shooting him and offer him a partnership as i pick up the box containing the

Hi! i've been reading all the posts here and am very interested but i have a few questions: 1) need a faction be composed entirely of one race, or can it be several (i.e., an all TEC faction v. a TEC/Vasari combo)? 2)what if you are interested in things like lore creation, rule-mongering, and playing? i am interested in these, but have no idea as to what i would qualify as. 3) if you are intersted in playing, what do you do if you don't necessaril

first, i shall sneak in using the powers of the Subtle Knife and steal back my box with the hill in it. i next ask how the heck you shoot a portal into the box from the outside. i then put the hill in my new fortress. it has been time-machine and affadivit proofed, in addition to being surounded by a probability field, stoping the use of the Infinate Improbability Drive. i also hire a similar, competing redecorator to portal-proof my fortress. i then turn

use an Infinate Improbability Drive to escape from the Inescapable Box. use a massive nanobomb to convert the surrounding countryside and the cubicle into a grey mass. employ a the friendly neighborhood necromancer to put down any resultant zombies. build new fortress. surround said new fortress with shields. use magical powers to turn fortress unoticable, which is better than invisable. surround fortress with an improbability field and destroy all

sorry for the double post, but thats why i took the precaution of moving my fortress to another universe beforhand. also, if your ship blew up, how could it have survived? its generally accepted that when a ship explodes it doesn't pop back into existance immediatly afterwards. unless... hmmm... this merits more thought...

the Temporal Stabilization Unit prevents the temporal annihilation device from functioning, causing it to fizzle out and melt into an unappetizing pile of sludge. your attempts to use clever subspace signalling drive you mad, leading you to believe that you have set up another base and destroyed mine. also, your madness appears to have you functioning one year out of sinc with the rest of us. i have also poisoned your cloning vats with a potent protoevolutionary virus,

hmmm... this seems too easy. first, i thank god that i just so happen to always have my Temporal Stabilization Unit active 24/7, nullifying the ASTMD's effects around me. next, i turn on my Gravitic Drive (read gravity manipulator), stopping any black hole action or Yuuzhan Vong style sheilds and propulsion. also, all my ships and battle mechs have hardened systems, so poof goes the advantage of an EMP device. next, i fire my planet-based intergalactic superlas

i have to agree with darvin. lots of explosions, while melting the armour, would also increase the ablative effect of the hull. the sticky point is that the effects would be more pronounced on energy weapons, at least according to my understanding. in the end though, a damage cap could make sense.

actually, archangel52, assuming an evolutionary model of existance, that would most likely be the result of both the lemon ants and the plants evolving with each other in a symbiotic manner. basically, the ants favor the plant and somehow develop herbicidal toxins; at the same time, the plant, which is favored by the ants, develops immunity. it is also possible that the ants favored the plant because it was immune to the toxins in the first place. saying

ok, here's my problem... i jump into an enemy grav well and I find an enemy vasari SB. however, this isn't the newly constructed, still upgrading variety, this is the one that eats enemy fleets for breakfest, lunch, and dinner. how can i counter it, because the other anti-SB tactics i have devised only apply to stationary (TEC or Advent) SB's. how can you defeat a highly upgraded, defense/assult oriented vasari starbase, as any race, that doesn't involve forlorn hope
