Got it working now, I think as I didn't have .NET2.0 installed it was trying to install a 32bit version, I installed the 64bit version from mircosoft and the installation then worked fine. Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately automatically restart is not checked and I am not getting a bsod. On restart windows thinks it was shut down correctly. I have noticed the MsiInstaller has logged an couple of events in the log just prior to the reboot, the first an error: Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 -- This setup is not supported on 64-bit versions of Windows XP Followed by Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 -- Installation failed.
I have just bought GCII Ulimate edition on DVD, when I try to install the game it gets to about 8% then reboots my PC, which restarts and reboots continually until the DVD is removed. Currently running windows pro xp64, AMD64 2.8GHz, NVIDIA7800GTX, 2GB RAM Direct X9.0c Hope you can help
