a class of starship larger than cap, smaller than starbase that can house multiple frigs/cruisers. and has point defense
vunda
Astax and Madcow are you guys scared of taking a few losses? i mean come on guys, if you were given the opportunity to design a defense grid for a planet would you at least put a few launchers on the planet or would you leave it all up to the orbital defences?
well if the logistics stay the same i would like to at least be able to support a larger fleet and maybe more cap ships
maybe being chased by their unfinished essays on how to be polite to other races and being kind in general
i believe the number of ships you have should be tied to the number of planets you have. say 10 ships per planet and 1 cap ship for every 2, but you get 2 cap ships for free in the begining. or have the number of ships you can support be infinate only limited by your resources, say a cruiser would cost the initial resources to build it and then ..2 or .3 from each resource to pay as a kin dof upkeep or have the upkeep cost per fleet logistic upgrades not go up as much, and be able to support
i read the manual it doesn't mention anything about what TDN stands for.
is TDN really an acronym? like HMS stands her majesty's ship. one of the things i think TDN stands for is Terrans Doing Nothing
that's a really good idea. ground invasion is a missing element that should be included. guys this is entrenchment it's basically trench warfare on a galactic level, you fortify your planets and make it very costly for an enemy to take it. Life ,Madcow 7420, is harsh and would you honestly just build "ok" defenses around a planet that would only stop a moderately sized attack force, or ,if you resources allowed it, build the planetary defenses up to make it hell for an enemy to
Agent of Kharma it's no that i hate mines, it's the fact there is no real pratical way to deal with them, i would like for some type of way to remove them without having to expend my entire fleet. that would be nice if there was a button to disable them at the start of a game. ok maybe starbases should be able to fire when incomplet, but only when it is finished up to the place where the weapon firing is. here's an example, when i first played entrenchment, i was confronted by an enemy fleet
i know the vasari stabase is cool on how it can move, but if you are tasked with defending a planet with billions of people on it would you just build one starbase that couldn't move or would you build as many as the resources at your dispsal allowed? would you build a stabase "west" of the planet and leave the "east" and parts of the "north and south" also undefended.
i agree. but with the ammount of room on a planet i think you should be given the option to chose what "type" of planet you want it to be. i'm not talking about changing a volcanic to a terran (but that would be pretty cool), but selecting what mixture of orbital defences and ground set up you would like. being given the option of making it a fleet support base, or a major obstacal to an advancing enemy, by making the planet basically a giant fort.
for point numer 6, the ability to shoot a 360 degree radius without the planet obstucting fire
as i've been playing the entrenchment i beta i've found several basic ides that need to be addressed. 1) Starbases should not move! i mean what the hell, it basically just turns into and uber slow capitol ship that destroys enverything in it's path 2) a minesweeper needs to be included or a mine self destruct button that you are able to press once control of the planet is achieved 3) starbases range should cover the entire gravity well, or we should be able to construc
why can't we place an starbase "above" or "below" a planet? it forces us to choose which side of the planet/gravity well gets more protection

can you play LAN with the same copy installed on two computers?
can you have multiple cpies of entrenchment per account?
did you buy 1 or 2 copies?
do you buy it and download it as a file that can be transfered/copied around to different places, then run an intaller? i'm asking this question because i have several computers that i change around alot of the parts, some have sins installed and i want to know is if i'm going to be buying/downloading two copies of entrenchment, will i be getting 2 files that are both copies of entrenchment or will i be getting one file that i can install 2 times?
i think if you buy W7 you should get both the 32 and 64 bit copies, along with being able to register them as 2 different copies
i hope there is a retail version eventually because i don't want to have to keep buying and rebuying any of the expansion packs incase my computers screw up
can i redownload it if my computer(s) i install it on gets trashed? because i do a lot of computer component swapping and there have been times things have screwed up really bad
if you pre-order entrenchment, will an actual disc be sent to you when it is released in it's final version? and if you order multiple copies will you get multiple copies that you move/install on several computers or is it one file that you can install on several computers?
Yarlen, have the devs increased the range of the starbases? if they don't can they remove the restriction of one per gravity well? and can (if possible) add some type of point defense to stop some incoming missles?
also another idea is give the ability for starbases to launch missles out of the tubes using like a mass driver, but not have it light off it's drive for another few seconds, thus increasing the range or adjust the drive of the missle to be able to run longer at a lower speed
