Neither Sword of the Stars II or Endless Legend are 'native' 64-bit code (They do not require a 64-bit OS). XCOM Linux requires a 64-bit OS, but to the best of my knowledge it's simply a conversion of the 32-bit original.
They do. they simply have both 32 and 64 bit versions. Mainstream support for Windows 7 ends January 13, 2015. After that only security fixes for 5 years. They won't release a major feature couple months before support for the OS ends.

"uninstalling things is actually quite a pain because now you have to first go to control panel and then the add/remove programs" you type uninstall and in settings it's the first one (no need to go to control panel) PS If you put the desktop tyle the the first one then hiting enter goes straight to Desktop.
Steam has an amazing self-serve uploading system.
Does it allow self serve beta creation and upload? If it does beta builds of Rebellion could be nice (no need for QA) PS. If I remember correctly, that was something you wanted Impulse to have.

"(you can’t just search for control panel applets in Windows 8)" Yes you can: they are under settings. "Regedit doesn't work either." Yes it works: press WIN type regedit -> the if you use it often you can pin it to start screen and the typing reg it will appear (first time it may not be the first item but after you launch it for first time it will be) I suggest you read up on the new keyboard shortcuts -> press WIN type "help" a Help and Support will a

Elemental is being made by Stardock, not Ironclad. Ironclad said (on these forums) that in a week or so there will be a patch to SOASE + Entrenchment. Also there was information on impulsedriven.net that next SOASE expansion (diplomatic?) is delayed, so they are hard at work. Silence berore a storm, so to speak.
