A quick look at your profile shows that you live in Australia. A cursory search on the internet shows that 5 years after Australia implemented a gun control law homicides are up slightly and assaults are up by some 44%! So much for gun control
Which has nothing to do with guns as the majority didn't have ownership of guns and those who had (like me) still have weapons. It was just the automatic and sem

It's a sad day when we lose children, they are innocent to the world and have so much promise for the future. It's worst when we lose them to a mindless act, something which shouldn't happened. My thoughts go out to their love ones and to the other children of the school who will need the love and care in the years to come. To the brave teachers who lost their lives looking out for students and to the community as a whole. Guns will always be a part of Ameri

Firefox is bringing out an OS for phones in the future. This web page explains the design principles and the thought process behind the UI. An interesting read on UI design ... https://blog.mozilla.org/ux/2012/09/mozcamp-warsaw-design-principles-behind-firefox-os-ux/ <img src="https://blog.mozilla.org/ux/files/2012/09/mozilla-mozcamp-firefox-os.024-600x480.jpg" alt=

$15 is an interesting figure compared to $299, I would say they don't want punters to pay the 15 dollars. Making up an advertising package for their site and on the Kindle for a business, could be (or is) a good income stream into the future. Don't think they are doing it right ... cut the cost of the Kindle by around a half. This would increase users, more awareness of their product, greater usage (and awareness) of businesses to their product, generate a larger income

Still remember that song from when I was a kid. Sat my friends 4 year old in front of the computer, played 'share it maybe' ... had to play it 5 more times. She loved it. How can one monster have so much talent ...

Once in a while, a song comes a long that you can't get out of your head. If I have to suffer, then I will share it around ... enjoy [e digicons][/e]

I'll be buying a Mac in a few weeks, once my tax is done. I use them all the time and W8 is a good excuse to have one at home. Setting it up as a graphic workstation, everything else can stay with my PCs. constructed, hard, uniform, unbending, solid, no free flowing lines, no modern round soft shapes or good feel colours ... as Jafo said 'Bland' Big risk linking a logo to a non proven product ... you should only change your logo if you are trying to reconnect to the customers and want to repackage your company ... would be ideal for a company which makes kids colour blocks, and they would use bright happy (not old man safe) colours. Now I look at it, i

let the raving begin ... [e digicons]:([/e] Personally ... I can't see any reason to upgrade from W7, tried out Metro and it's something I can do without. Might miss some good tech that is going into W8, but W7 does its job and I am more than happy with it. I use my computer (and phone) as a tool, not a social accessory ...

Clive Palmer is a dolt, treat anything that comes out of his mouth with a grain of salt. If he didn't have money no one would take any notice of him. An attention seeking brat. What's wrong Clive, no one is taking notice of your ultra left wing, CIA taking over our mining wealth, theories any more ... shut the F@#$ up. *sigh* ... Sorry for the rave, Boxxi. I needed to get that of my chest. It will never happen ...
Perhaps they didn't want their good name associated with an impending fail of epic proportions.
[e digicons][/e] A large company like MS would not give up a brand they had spent a lot of time and money creating. It would fight tooth and nail to keep it (and win). The only reason to give up a brand, if the brand is not worth keeping.... Still nothing has changed, it's the same beast, no matter what you

Right! I'm going to call BS on this. Not that MS is dropping the Metro name but because they say it's a copyright issue. A German retail giant can stop a name for an OS, a common used name for a lot of other businesses, hmmmm. It's not the US, think a European court could see the difference between a product and a company. I'll put my tin foil hat on ... and say the MS found it too much of a problem securing web sites, trying to market a product that is now has a tarni
