MAybe, I'm talking about the grey colored ships, that seem to use the same tech as the TEC. Is there anyway to change that or stop them from using the mods?

HI, I made a few moddifications to some of the TEC ships such as speed. But the pirates seem to be using the same ships. How do I stop the pirates from stealing my ship mods? Can I change their default race? thanks
