I'd like the idea of a world turning to you because right now it's kinda silly to see a 344/344 Terran world suddenly lose all population and upgrades if it's 'converted', perhaps have a timer start that gives you 10-60 minuets (depending on population and starting alligance)In that time, you'd maybe see revolutions occurring on the planet, like small battles of loyalists vs rebels (think of real history, like the United States revolting to become their own collective.). The timer would

If you think about it, so what if the little guy has the equal share of the fighting strength, from what it sounds like, you guys are thinking that this 'little' guy has a free hyperspace jump into any of your planets while your -entire- fleet will be off in some other solar system. I'd just squish the guy if he's causing me so much trouble, it's not like he's going to have a way to get out or can give up land in favor of catching up with defenders because that's /all/ he has. If you c

one of every capital ship, then spam Radiances :P and when you get high enough in the tech tree, the mothership really becomes only useful for colonization. As well as destra's as both fleet support and defensive ships on every planet, 1-3 will fend off most pirate raids with a fully armed orbital defense network.

The trick with Advent is you /need/ to boost up the fleet's OP shield tech to the max, while also getting the metal upgrades. The TEC are awesome at getting credits/metal, the Advent Crystal, but endgame on bigger maps with credits as well. I've not fiddled with Vasari very much though, meh. Your maximum allegiance is capped at 35% until you get the two ups that cap it at 45% for Advent. Static defenses mean the difference between a pirate raid being contained until a backup fl

Have 2 fleets, one your uber main assault fleet, and another your gank/support fleet which should have substantial strength as well. Corner them and squeeeeze, their last homeworld , no matter the odds, they will stand and fight.

My views on the whole 'Small empire = small fleet' is that, sure they might only field a smaller navy, but what about the R/D part making his smaller, cheaper fleet turn into a formidable force that suddenly surpises the bigger empire as he's usually devoting all available energy to developing colonies and fielding more and more ships. Tis what I do, I turtle in and grind out the needed 16 research stations and go to town improving and fortifying my worlds. Only when I have a firm avantage in b

hah, I just finished a huge 102 planet map with 2 AI allies against 7 enemies. My faction was the Advent, controlling 66 of those planets total game time 14:34:04 with my victory being my combined fleet nuking the last homeworld as panic drove the population to burn their own world :D my credit income was hovering around 80 or so, with a fleet upkeep cost of 166. I upped trade and filled un-needed frigate construction places with trade slots. metal and Crystal were low onl
