I think the description for entrenchment star bases was initially that they could take on entire fleets. With the info we have of titans, I imagine they would be stronger and regardless of their abilities, their purpose is that of a war vessel first and foremost. I am sure like star bases, they will have their weakness. I think if there was more info into why the rebellion for each race, it might help with the speculation regarding the purpose of the titans. &

Some additional info would be cool but I can imagine them not wanted to give early info that might end up being false because of how development goes. If this were a beta forum it probably wouldn't matter much. It just so happens I am also eagerly awaiting SotS II which is releasing in a few months so that will help ease my hunger for more rebellion info for now.
Thanks! I will do just that.
I've been looking forward to this mod since it was first announced and its looking great so far!
Is it possible to start a player without any planets and not see the game over screen immediately? I am working on a RPG type mod where I don't want the player to start with any planets but so far it doesn't seem doable.
Is there a way to change your payment method after you've already pre-ordered rebellion? The credit card I used will most likely expire before beta starts.
My guess would be that they are like the corvettes in Homeworld 2 -Oversized fighters that come in smaller squadrons. As to their purpose, I wouldn't be surprised if they filled some existing class role. With titans added, there will probably be some changes to ship roles in general.
Use scouts to detect them, then you can destroy them. A few scouts and a carrier can make short work of them.
I realize this is not a huge addition to gameplay but it would be cool to actually see upgrades for all ships (or even just capitals). For example, if you upgrade beams, they change color, pattern. If you upgrade armor, you actually see it on the ships. Damage effects could use an upgrade too.
Awesome! Thanks so much man.
Does a collection of sins models in XSI format exist anywhere? If not, it would be a great modding resource (hint hint) for those that do not have 3dsmax like myself.
Use the one building per faction as a template to grant the spell after being the first to build a new building? Then use the long cool down time.
I see some mods say to put files in the corresponding folder under my games (for example items, units, etc..). Other mods say just drop it in the mods folder. My question what should be the directory structure inside the mod folder? Is it like SOSE where you need a folder with a mod name and the same folders within (ie units, items, etc..) ? I've tried just dropping them in a mods folder (and enabled use mods) but it hasn't worked for me. Putting them in the corresponding folders one director
Makes sense. I had one ship on auto explore. That was also the first game in which this happened to me.
I am getting the same thing. It is only happening after loading up a saved game. Also If I have auto turn enabled, the turns progress fine. Once I hit the end turn button thoug, I am stuck. One odd thing I noticed, the first time this happened with 1.06, my time left for an adventure tech was displaying as -1.
I've lost all sound a few times during tactical battles. Sound effects seem to always return once the battle ends. Music doesn't always return. During the first instance, I clicked the turn button a few times quickly without moving any troops. It seemed to occur frequently during tactical battles after that point while in the same session. This is a problem in both campaign and skirmish mode.
It's easy to say alt-tabbing ending in a crash is unacceptable however we are not seeing the whole picture. There are deadlines, work is done by priority, and shit happens. They could have spent time working on that bug but at the cost of something else. That something else could have been a pretty important feature or more serious defect. If they had to weight fixing a memory crash verse alt-tab crash given the time left, its obvious which one they would work on. I'm sure if they had the lux
Despite not wanting to hear peoples excitement over wanting the game immediately, it's better they are looking forward to the game then nobody caring.
Wondering if Frogboy meant MONDAY by tomorrow (the post time was just before midnight..... especially considering Kryo's last post. *gnurf*
He did say Sunday though.
I really like this idea. I tried modding something similar on my own but never had the time to get far with it. I was aiming for something similar to conquest frontier wars where you can 'call in' one admiral who has a specialized capital ship (essentially your free flagship as a one time thing) with specific bonuses. Some of the bonuses are geared towards buffing the fleet while others either boost the strong points of the faction or have some bonus against another faction. </p
Awesome! I thought for sure it wouldn't be till Monday.
Kicking people because of skill level, especially with a small online community already, is only making the situation worse. I can tell you there is nothing more frustrating for me then sitting waiting for a game to start for 10 minutes only to be booted. Or to be booted multiple times across different games. Who wants to waste 30 minutes just trying to get into a game when you may only have an hour to play. It's no wonder why single player is still so largely important in the gaming wo
I'd like to contribute but unfortunately things are hectic now and wouldn't be able to spend enough time to be useful. I can send you the model exports i've done so far that are working in game. I just need to get the old drive up and running where I stored them. It sounded like the hardware was about to die so I replaced it but haven't demolished it yet.
One area in general that seems lite in terms of purpose is the water on maps. Seems like each tree could expand to use water more. Trade ships which act like caravans to support the diplomacy tree. What about sea creatures for our adventurers to beat up??! Warfare: - More techs which benefit armies in tactical battle. Things like spear formation which increases attack verse calvary or coordinated use of shields which increase defense verse arrows, etc... <p
Go for it. That look will go over great in jail.
