the more we reply to this thread, the longer it stays on the recent post board out front. not the first impression we want newcomers to have, considering how great we all know the game to be. time to start ignoring the trollers, i think, since we clearly outnumber them 1000 to 1.

another thought: don't forget that those extractors aren't yours to keep -- other factions can come in and capture them for themselves! you may want to keep a fleet there to guard them, if it's strategic to do so. :)

while i usually just ignore most of the ai requests (the unreasonable ones that want to send me halfway across the star system), i have found that it's really worthwhile to accomodate the requests that are convenient. one faction in particular was pestering me for metal and credits, of which i had plenty to spare, and i ended up allying with them. without this cease fire, i probably wouldn't have won the game. :)
