A democrat station like CNN would never allow the word illegal in that context. He probably said undocumented alien. [e digicons]:D[/e]

Solsuite has over 400 versions of solitaire for $20. www.solsuite.com
With xp you might not want to go higher than nvidia 7 series. I have a 7600gt, 512meg and it works fine. Use the latest driver and not the one on the disk. Compatability depends on what kind of slot you have. PCI express if best if it's on your motherboard. Otherwise AGP. Make sure you have the latest 9c directx. Uninstall the old driver first. Then use driver sweeper in safe mode to get the remnants. Switching isn't difficult. M
I figured out the perfect solution. After all the updates are done, probably in July, I'm going to zip the entire gc2 folder and save it to disk. Then when I need to reinstall, I'll do so with my original cd so everything will be in the registry, then delete the entire folder and unzip.
or can i burn those dl'led versions to cd's and install them later from those cd's ?You can back the download up as you choose for later installs.
Can you please tell me where I can download. I installed from Stardock and it didn't archive even though I checked that. I like to keep copies of all my software on disk. Thanks.
It's very nice and appreciated. In fact I already have it printed out. But the manual will have lots of other stuff that will be helpful. It would be nice to know what's going on with it. I'm still pretty much a nooby.
Um, I guess nobody noticed this post. Currently, there is no TA manual. I understand it is being worked on. I was just wondering about the status and how it will be distributed. Thanks.
Hi, I read about upcoming releases and that looks fine. I was wondering specifically about the TA manual. Will it be included in the next update or will it be available sooner as a separate download? Any idea when it will arrive?
Oh I agree with you on the online distribution. I haven't bought a computer game in the store in years. But that's not what this thread is about. It's about being able to have the game with all the updates saved on disk just in case. I guess it's a feeling of being in control of the product that my hard earned money was spent on. One game I have needs to be licensed online. And I have addons for flight simulator where the install file needs to be downloaded each time. I don't like those s
I have put them all on dvd. All except TA which didn't archive. But I don't know how to use the files to update the game. They're not exe. Hopefully 2.0 will be the final patch for the whole thing and they'll make it available.
I think the chances of Stardock going under in the short run is nil. And I believe everybody here believes the same. But we like to have copies just on general principles because you never really know what might happen in the future. Accidents for example. I recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything. Archived all the upgrades to gc2. But have no idea how to use them if needed. They were in the Stardock backup folder. Btw, there's all kinds of junk in that fold
Um, yes. So had Enron. Very large oil company. But online activation is here, not just with Stardock. I just wish it wasn't. I plan to buy TA anyway to add to my gold edition. Still don't like mandatory online activation though.
Some very good points made on this thread. Nothing lasts forever. America is decreasing for several reasons. Illegal immigration is draining our financial resources. Islamofascism is a serious threat. 9/11 was a sample. Wait until Iran or a similar country gets a nuclear bomb. It can be brought to the US in a suitcase. With open borders that would be easy. They want to transform the world into sharia law and are well on the way. The decline of the dollar. Very serious. De
I plan to buy this when it comes out. So I was wondering: Will the new graphics also apply to DL and DA or only TA? Will the disk version include a printed manual like the gold edition does? Thanks.
Thanks, I'll take that other planet. Then get a few more fighters and another transport to take the main one.
There is a shield. Didn't know that was a ship. Actually I never did figure out what all those little icons around the planets are for.
Yeah, I saw that for the fighter and then looked for one for the transport and there wasn't any. That's another reason I thought the transport wasn't out of range. The transport was next to the planet and I right clicked on it. It showed the destination as the planet in the info box. Then I ended the turn. There was no invasion and the transport had no destination. So I ended another turn. Still nothing. Thought it was all kind of strange.
Ok, thanks. Just that there was a window that told me my fighter was out of range but no such for the transport.
No, it's a transport and I'm pretty sure it's in range. It's just out of range of my fighter but there are no other ships. This is the primary planet of the other civ. There also was another planet in the same star system and I just tried to invade and it was ok. So, maybe you can't invade the primary if there are others?
I'm playing a simple DL game to learn the basics. Researched planetary invasion and built a transport. Sent it off to an enemy planet to invade (no ships present). It goes next to the planet but no further. Says it has no destination when I clearly right-clicked the planet. I think I'm missing something simple but don't know what. Can someone please help?
The DA espionage system is a major reason I'm starting out playing DL. For my first few games I don't need this extra complication. However, what I've read is the devs understand this needs to be tweaked and will do so in a future patch, maybe 2.0.
I recently got the game. Looked at it for a long time before buying because I really didn't like Civilization much, played 1 & 2 a couple times before they went on the shelf. So I was a bit shy about GalCiv. But after playing for a while I have to say I really like it. There's a balance not found in Civ. And the more I play the more I want to play. One of the big reasons I finally plunked down my money is the devs. Great job!
Once I download the game, is it later possible to just download a patch? Or do I have to download the full game each time it's updated? What exactly is Heightmaps? Looks like different graphics to enhance performance. So does it look not very good? Is this a good module?
Just wanted to thank you for your help. Looks like I'll be able to take my wife's laptop to the library and use their wifi to download the movies. They might not be necessary to play the game but I think they'll add to the gaming experience. Looks like a great game. With a super ai (important to me), devs who care (also important), and no on disk copy protection (wouldn't have bought if it did). I'll buy the other expansion when it comes out.
Ok, I'll think about the cd. I might be able to download the movies at the library or something and put them on a dvd. If I want to order the cd and pay the postage, how do I go about it? And does the cd have a printed manual with it? Also, is there a printer friendly copy of the beginner's guide I can download, like a pdf or doc?
