Exact thing happen to me. 2v2 without locked teams later on the AI broke alliance and a couple hours later i had 2 AI fleets attack at the exact same time destroying my last 2 planets and my cornered fleet.

I lost all trust in Gamespot after that whole incident with one of their editor getting fired for rumor doing a bad review of a game and the publisher complaining. I been on beta so i know the game would be good. If you want to know what the majority of the review say checks sites like metacritics for average rating of reviews. For me after being on beta since beta 2 its a winner in my books already. I hope to be nuking some of your planets soons in multiplayer. :P

I was very surprise to find that pirates even on easy will muster huge fleets to attack others for bounty.

Should be reserved, research cap ship and give cruisers when you build a capital ship yard. I like that cap ship at start feature, it will help stop rushes early MP games and nice to clear early pirates. On another note I love the long battles, they are not extremely fast pace like most RTS. This brings back memories of Homeworld. The economy and planet management are not too deep and let you focus on battles and fleet operations.
