Tonight's episode was better. Somewhat predictable, but at least we're finally getting somewhere. Will be interesting to see how things play out from here, so long as they stop abusing the stones.

Charr with guns... That's kinda scary. I'm still a little upset that all the world-saving we did in GW1 gets undone, but this new video helped. The new architectural styles help reinforce the fact that a really long time has passed, giving some much needed distance from the events of the previous game. Would have been nice if dwarves were still around, too. I really would have enjoyed playing a booze-crazed Armokian fortress dwarf.
Here are my reasons for prefering Vengeance over Tribes2 1. My wireless internet setup is too slow to play multiplayer fps and tps games like tribes2 2. I do not enjoy competitive gaming at all, infact multiplayer is my least favorite gaming experience and I generally avoid it at all costs. Lets just say, I probably won't play Elemental Online at all. 3. The campaign for Tribes was simply amazing. It re

I did this a few weeks ago. I forget what my score was, but it was within a few points of perfect. I have terrible vision. but apparently my color perception is fine.

I really wanted to see a Dwarf Fortress-esque story about a group of woefully unprepared people overcoming horrible initial conditions, building a new community in relative isolation, and eventually doing something crazy-awesome. Maybe if Eli runs out of people to stalk with the kino and people stop abusing the communication stones... I keep telling myself that the first season of SG1 was similarly lackluster and artificially tarted up, but I can't help wondering if this is really the
Well maybe it just isnt your type of game. What do you like to play?
Well, I started with Starcraft, which I played a fair bit but was never very good at. Then I became a beta tester for a little-known indie RTS game called Strifeshadow, and eventually managed to become reasonably good at it despite starting out as officially the second-worst player in the community. The game never caught on and LAN play never worked properly, but
Tribes: Vengence (Very unique fps)
HEATHEN! [e digicons]XO[/e] Tribes: Vengeance was a fatal lobotomization of the franchise. It sacrificed much of the mod-friendliness, depth, and intelligent gameplay of its predecessors in exchange for brighter colors, a single-player campaign nobody cared about, and some sort of truck that looked suspiciously like a Warthog. Tribes 2 was far better. If

I never really got into Sins. It sounds like lots of fun, and I love the art style and concept, but somehow I just don't "grok" the gameplay. I've never been very good at RTS games, but after a while I can usually develop a sense of what I'm supposed to be doing at any given time. That hasn't happened yet with Sins, and I'm not sure why. Maybe the slower speed is throwing me off, or maybe it's how tiny everything looks. Either way, it's frustrating because I feel like I'm missing out

Could you make it so Impulse doesn't use the Windows balloon popups? I disabled notification balloons on my system because I don't like being asked about the unused icons on my desktop every few hours, so this new feature doesn't work for me.

Wow, I'm really getting my money's worth for that 10Mbps connection! This is the same ISP that recently tried to triple my rates by instituting tiny (20GB) bandwidth caps with big overage charges while lying to everyone about how much money they would save once all the "bandwidth hogs

As awesome as Dwarf Fortress is, it's technically still in early alpha and therefore isn't eligible. On the other hand, I don't think the game will ever be considered truly finished, so maybe "release date" isn't an applicable criterion. Definitely have to add Cave Story to the list, though. That game is amazing in so many ways. Persona 3 is another good contender. You can't help but like a game where the protagonist regularly shoots

I had something sort of similar happen just now. Immediately after game start, I selected my Sovereign and right-clicked on the next tile to the right. He immediately dashed leftwards while flashing, eventually going off the map completely. No fog was revealed.

A few comments in no particular order: 1. Frogboy reads the bay12games forums? Awesome. We may yet get some dwarfiness into this game after all. 2. I don't know how good the new research mechanic will be, but at least it's interesting . Linear tech trees are stale; everyone does them, and they work, but it feels like a cop out. The Alpha Centauri total-randomness system may have been frustrating at times, but it was new and unusual and prevented you from relying on a f

The infocards are a good idea. Can we include diplomatic relations on there, too? I rarely remember to check the diplomatic screen when playing this kind of game, so it's always a surprise when one of the AI factions suddenly declares war on me. Having the information on an infocard would keep everything on the main screen and make it more likely for me to come across it while playing. This doesn't have to be anything too complicated; a small section on the card that lists the

I run Avast and haven't had any problems with startup, but I do have occasional random freezeups while playing. It just happened again, and a few moments after I killed the program, Avast popped up a message saying that it had just downloaded an update. Maybe Avast's update utility is causing problems with the game.

A dice roll to determine the outcome of a battle? Fine. A dice roll to determine the outcome of the game? Not good. I like the idea that the Sovereign can die, and I realize that surprise assassinations can potentially turn the game into "bum rush the sovereign", but this Evade thing is a really lazy solution. Can't we come up with something better? Strand's idea might work. If you have nearby units with you when you're attacked, you can throw them at the enemy to buy

I agree that most of them look rather generic. However, I like the crests for Umber, Resoln, and Capitar, and the detail in the edge engravings is impressive. I thought at first that Tarth's emblem was a pink squid, though. Using dual-symbol crests to show vassal affiliation is a neat idea; I hadn't thought of that. [e digicons][/e]
