Jpinard, another question: I am attempting to load your custom race into the game and it refuses to show up after following your instructions. I tried to load it and the race appears with no icon in the load box and attempting to load your custom race results in "failed to load custom race." I'll attempt to create your race and then edit it (place appropriate pictures/etc. in the raceconfig file) and see how that works!

Thank you very much, all of you. Jpinard, I noticed you mentioned Ascendency in your music section- which was exactly what I was trying to use to make all 21 playable races complete with their appropriate music from the original game. My I ask how you were able to convert or record the soundtrack from the game?

I should have trolled through the forums first: https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=348&aid=146611#1151241 This would just be replacing the existing files- I want to know if you can place the music files in the mod folder and if the game will use them or use the original files?

Hello, so I was reading over the "Brief Guide to Modding" and looking through the RaceConfig file thinking about making a mod but I wanted to change the music files for the different races. Now how do I go about that? Would I just copy and paste the current music files into my mod and replace them with my own under the same filename? For example if Humans (race 0) use the file Race000.mp3 for their music should I replace it with my own Race000.mp3 in the mods folder?

Hello, I am very new at this but now that I've put a picture (does format of the file matter?) into the portrait folder how do I use it? I've tried to make a custom race but the new portrait does not come up anywhere. Thank you for your help.
