tried opening a windows command prompt (cmd.exe) it also loaded conime.exe to help it after after typing exit to leave the command window and did not disturb the conime it opened tried running steam then FE:LH then click on exit in the menu after that for some reason steam seems to be no longer bothered about conime (ie steam does not think FE:LH is still running after exiting from FE:LH's main menu)  
was so used to 'this problem' i always tried to remember to start windows task manager before starting Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes in order to close steam after reply #3 by isidiel decided to see if i could spot conime.exe in the process tab of task manager conime.exe was not present after login or after start steam, but appeared after launch of FE:LH closing conime.exe also appeared to work for me also
with the critical damage they get assassins do better damage with spells then warriors (though obviously less than mages) when i tried Relias as an assassin usually used spells half the time vs using melee getting a crit on thunderstrike was always nice when it happened

can not connect to metaverse with TA since update can still connect to metaverse in original Dreadlords and 1st expansion Dark Avatar
Was stuck or verify for quite a while paused download and restarted impulse and Elemental patch then finished quickly after played 1.2 last night

if it was large empire with more than 1 child surviving the empire could split in pieces as new factions
if you decrease all stats to 5 while using the generator you get 140 points to spend on other stuff when you save a sovereign it gets own little file My Games\Elemental\Units you then can edit the stats and other stuff
Was able to raise Lady Procipinee inteligence from 15 to 30 Do you have mods enabled under options?
a note on creating a custom sovereign for editing if you lower all 6 stats to 5 you get 140 points this allows you to stackup as many of the other options as you want taking more than 3 abilities does not show up nicely in the in game character report after saving your sovereign it appears MyGames\Elemental\Units you can then edit the stats to almost anything of course their is the temptation to mak
In my most recent game with the Yor. The Pirates came and destroyed everyone's ships. 2 of the ai's then surrendered to me. I then went for research victory while the pirates patroled th space lanes.
This also happened to me in the current version 1.4x of the game. Hopefully can reload from a previos save. Reloading from autosave worked once before.
