try creating a new game with the same custom race, then exiting and checking for a 'cheater flag set' line in the debug. OK, I deleted the debug.err from the gamedir and started new metaverse game using the exact same setting as the 'cheat' game. Selcted Metaverse, Log In, Play, Next, Next, Next, Next, Done, Done, Done, and the new Galaxy scr

OK, now I am getting pixxed off! This is the second metaverse game that I have completed (Gigantic, abundant all, painful, 1.4x) without using ANY cheat codes, nevertheless Metaverse puts that blasted RED thingy next to the game stating "cheat codes detected". Bulls! If anyone has got a clue, please let me know as I don't plan to play another Metaverse game until this thing is sorted out. Below the debug.err from this £cheat" game. I have also emailed the zipped endga

One more observation about ADVANCED: why can we stop spending on spying when reaching the highest level? Don't our spies need money to carry on bribing, canaiving and generally subverting everything? I would have expected the spending on spying to have to carry on through the game (and increase in line with the economic affluency of the enemy) if we wanted to maintain the spying net, if we lower the expenditure then spying level will eventually decrease. Seems logical to me....

No matter how big the largest map is someone will always want a bigger one Why not? as an option one should be able to go as big as their PCs (or patience) can handle, after all the unisverse IS BIG... Also, why not a 3D galaxy instead of the two-dimensional one we currently enjoy? LL

Two issues with XENO ETHICS - Neutral Alignment 1 - I have researched Xeno Ethics, select Neutral Alignment, I do not have the 2500BC necessary to pay so I am going to be charged 10 BC for 250 weeks (!). Either during this turn, or the one immediately after, my credits are reset to 0. I have tried various values between 100 and 2400CR (by doing few turns either gaining or loosing credits overall before completing the Xeno Ethics research) and always with the same result.

Yesterday I finished and posted a game on Metaverse (v1.31)gGigantic, tough, aboundant all, fast tech, 5 Civs, Cultural Conquest enabled. Today, checking the Metaverse I find that the game has been marked with the 'cheat codes detected' flag. Since I have not utilised any cheats codes of any nature deliberately, I wanted to mention something that happened during the game that seemed a bit strange. Since my target was a cultural conquest, during the colonisation phase I set myself up to g

You loose it. You'd be better off getting the colony ship to a planet first and land. You can upgrade all colony ships at once whilst they are landed without loosing any population. Alternatively, land, then re-launch the ship but with only 1 colony on board, then upgrade. LL

As the title say, I have almost annihilated the Thalans (only two planets left) and I was wondering how I can ask them nicely to surrender? I have had occasions when races that I am attacking have surrendered, but it seems random and, more often than not, they surrender to another race (which really pixxes me off no end!) Thanks LL

Hia everyone, new(ish) player with possibly dumb question: I have started a Metaverse game on my computer at home few days ago. I am going to be away for a couple of weeks and would like to transfer the current save game to my laptop (so that I can play when bored in the hotel.....) If I finish the game on my Laptop, will Metaverse still accept my submission or treat it as a 'cheat'? Thanks

I have the same problem as the OP (both in Metaverse games and stand alone ones) and can easily recreate it at will in 1.31. Start game with my 'standard race' selected, on the very first (or even second turn) create a ship with two hyperdrive engines and save it. Start a new game with exactly the same parameters as the firstgame and the darn ship ain't there! (but it is the the GalCiv2\Ships follder or GalCiv2\Metaverse\Ships folder) J.M. good suggestion, I would adopt it it if
