I dunno. I'd be more comfortable if the guy was clear. It's like nodding along with a crazy guy shouting "GRABAHAHA SLAPPY WORLD PEACE" because he mentioned world peace. He appears to be against bland desktops, and also against XP. He also likes Windows, but Linux is better, but that's ok because there are programs for windows... After I announced my final post, I stopped going. Interesting that they deleted the thread. We close threads that get pointless eventually, but we never delete them. Then again, maybe it's a step towards quietly removing miriku as well.

I'm curious about the rule stating a skinner may represent several sites, as long as it's only one skin per represented site. If there's no real issue of site loyalty, why even involve the various communities? Why not make it a simple skinning competition?

Brad: The simple answer to your quarrels is that the interview was conducted by email, not live, and contacting the community for "follow ups" would have dragged the whole process out and destroyed the timeliness of the story. People have openly interpreted the responses, and TGTsoft has apparantly made no pretense of coming in and defending themselves, so the same effect has been acheived.

I'm certainly not suggesting a counter interview, or rather an interview with the attitude of a counter interview. Simply that Brad should take the opportunity to offer the community (or at least the DA community, if you want to look at it that way) the same Q&A opportunities with the same amount of legitimacy. Quite honestly, there is little reason for a wincustomize link to remain up if our relationship is to be equivocal. We have no grudge or other dilemma with WC, simply if the WC formula does not provide for equal advertising for DA, it seems rather demanding and optimistic that DA should pursue a different policy "in hopes" that we should receive similar treatment. Had we not shown the TGTSoft story, where exactly were your average community visitors going to get it? This thread, for example, appears to be the only mention of TGTSoft on this skinning portal. Deskmod is getting back on their feet, and the customize blurb is enough to let people know the product exists.
