Yin, thats rather incredible, can you post your settings here? Level and so on? Dave, I agree, they need to reevaluated, perhaps testing a few different approaches with current scoring? I played on "Normal", Large galaxy with all 5 races on, oh and tight clusters I think. /Flemming ~SDC~
So, after playing a nice and friendly game on a large galaxy, and winning through my patented "Coca Cola and Hamburgers strategy(TM)"(inluence victory) I discovered to my horror, that it only gave me a measly 386 points to win like this! whats up with that?!? I mean, my empires are the "flower-power hippie, be nice to everyone while overpowering the youth of other planets with my lifestyle" kinda empire, and I love that option in a strategy game. So, why is it that the
The UP Council issue about taxation for war, is pretty hefty. Imagine that you vote 20 percent tax for war mongering empires, and then persuade other races to go to war? Or if you are being declared war upon, that might ruin your empire financially, even BEFORE you make a single starship. Is there any way this can be targeted towards the agressive part only? /Flemming ~SDC~
oh, thanks Captain Chaos - hadnt noticed that in the FLOOD of posts here lately :) copy paste time hehe /Flemming ~SDC~

Mark, welcome to the Galciv fora :) I've been a regular over at Moo3 as well, and can easily understand your dissapointments. Having played both moo3 and galciv I can only say, that once you get a load of this baby, you dont want to ever play a moo3 game again. It delivers exactly what it promises, a bug free, easy to lear, hard to master, fantastic gaming experience. Hope to see it helped :) /Flemming Gammasquardron ~SDC~
ALso remember to give your enemies the Prison colony and Space Zoo, since they tend have undesired effects later on, hehe /Flemming ~SDC~
Well, if you are selling the old computer, then yes, remember to uninstall it, or else someone will get acces to your serial number. SDC does check IP's and serials to see if a serial has been pirated. I'm not entirely sure what you are asking here, but it could also be, if you can downloda the game once more, after getting your new computer, and in that case, you do not need to uninstall if via SDC before installing it again on your new computer. It's not limited to one downlo
Hi¨, this is a know bug, and is cosmetic only. After a few turns everything is back to normal :) Hope it helps /Flemming Gammasquadron ~SDC~
Imagine you get 100 bucks each month. you regularely spend 80 of them on food, shelter, chocolate, and so forth. The last 20 bucks you save for a rainy day. This is exactly the concept behind the "Spend Rate" simplified of course, since the spend rate touches three areas. hope it helps /Flemming ~SDC~
I agree - RMB option to get small info on tech, perhaps even some sort of tech level to indicate value of traded techs would be nice. Devs are aware of this, and may add it to future versions. /Flemming ~SDC~
here's one I'm particular fond of ;-) http://www.lidiumonline.com/magazine/articles.php?id=35 /Flemming ~SDC~
Try pressing ESC to the options menu. At the bottom middle you will see a list of how close you are to the different paths to victory, measured in percentage. Hope it helps /Flemming GammaSquadron ~SDC~
Frogboy said: "In fact, I was tempted to put in some file in there just to make it look bigger. But text files compress very well. " LOL - sortof like a Microsoft program then? /Flemming Gammasquadron ~SDC~
niice, people older than me, hehe well, I'm only 20. ehm, well actually, more like 25...why do you look at me like that? OKAY OKAY, I AM 30 OKAY?!!? hehe, yes going on 31 this may :) pretty interesting, I think the average age here is a bit higher than over at Moo3 fora where the same test was ran :) /Flemming ~SDC~
You do use SDC, Right? Newest version is : 0,99b.141 but there may be some trouble with it. You should use the 0.98 version which can be found here: http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentral098.exe hope it helps /Flemming ~SDC~
The serial should only be entered under galciv area, not drengin area. Try sending a "Lookup serial number" request through SDC with your email adress, to see if the serial is correct. /Flemming ~SDC~
you need to enter the serial number you recieved with the purchaes. This should be done under registration info, and under the galactic civlizations area. Remember to use the exact same email you used when purchasing the game. You can tell whether you are logged in properly in the right lower corner of SDC, where it should say "Logged in" hope it helps /Flemming ~SDC~
have fun :) /Flemming ~SDC~
Lol - good for you that you discovered it :) hope you like the game /Flemming ~SDC~
Remember to use the corrent email you registered the game with. you can check it out by using the Tools->"Lookup serial number" and have the serial sent to you. /Flemming ~SDC~
yes, in SDC there is an option called "lookup serial number" enter your email adress there, and it will be shipped to you. If that doesnt help, try going to www.stardock.com and enter your email adress there in the support area hope it helps /Flemming ~SDC~
Hi CptGreenwood, it is not possible to desing ships like in Moo series, but what you can do, is research tech that increases attack/defense, and ships ar updated automatically then, also, there is a multitude of different types of ships you can make, after researching them Hope it helps :) /Flemming ~SDC~
