Theres no error message, I just cant get the map editor to work. I can get the GC2IDE to work, I can click on "File" then "New", and I get an option window that has "Scenario", "Campaign", and "Map". (And three dummy options) The first two work, they lead to a new screen, but when I click on "Map" nothing happens at all. Dan.
Ok lots of chatting but no meat.... Anyone here with a REAL map editor?

Hi guys, I've tried using a couple of map editors that I found on the web but they just wont work for me. Are there more than two map editors for Galciv2? Dan.
If you really want to impress me, make a map editor that actually works on my computer! lol Dan.
GP Yeah I figured that out on my own after I made that post lol! Problem is, I tried extracting your files into the default folder, and the data folder (of the default folder) after making backups of the default folder etc... but it still dont work for me. Dan.
Ok I extracted this mod into my mod directory and I cant activate it in the in-game options screen. So how do I use it then? Dan.
I can gt everything to work except the map editor. lol (thats the only thing I want neway) Whenever I click on the "new map" option nothing happens. I can get the scenario/campaign editors to work tho, but like I said I dont even want those. Dan.
So is there anything that will let me edit my saved games?
You should design the game to work properly with the most common low end computers that your customers have. Such as computers that have 256 mb ram for example. (like mine) It might surprise you, but most people do not have the hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars that it costs to upgrade their computers to be "top of the line" every couple of months.
Over 26 hours and no replies eh? Strange.

When I try to save the game crashes. Any idea why?
Ok, so I reformatted my computer and I can play gal civ 2 now, but about half the time when I save the game the whole game crashes. Any idea why?
reformatting does the trick too... hey, it does! Reformatting? You mean completely deleting my hard drive, then re-installing everything? That would be rather drastic. I'll think about it though, if it means that I can get this game to work.
ok I have done everything I can think of and the game is still crashing. This is very frustrating. I mean, it was working just fine yesterday, then it just crashed and every time I un-install the game then re-install it, it keeps crashing whenever I try to start a new game. Any idea whats going on guys?
The game keeps crashing on me. I played it for a few days and it was working just fine, but now it crashes every time I try to start a new game. I have tried to delete the game and reinstall it, but it still dose not work, and I cant find an icon titled "uninstall" anywhere. So I was wondering if I missed something, or is there a specific place where I have to look to find an uninstall icon?
Too bad you cant just whipe out their planets with orbital bombardment. You cant do that in this game, right?
Do force fields protect from every kind of attack, or just beam weapons?
Hello, I'm wondering if there are map editors for this game? Or in other words, how do I create my own custom maps?
Ok, I just bought Galactic Civ 2, but it will not properly install on my computer from the cd's. So my question, how can I use my serial number to download the game from this site? (Yes I already registered my serial number)
