It gives you a good feelin'........ ;)

Saw the new Galciv Ad in Pc gamer, very nice layout and presentation. Perfect timing I might add....... :)
Oddly enough I have been playing a pc version of ms pac man from www.jrok.com A very good version, Highly recommended and freeware to boot. When I am not playing that I have been playing Tiberian Sun on and off. I don't want to play myself out on space strategy before the release date......
fool to bright is fairly easy, they let you get away with quite a bit. But on the intelligent levels they descend into strained relations pretty quickly. I would measure bright as the king difficulty level on Civ2 or 3, where inteligent would be more like emperor or a little harder. I think the real problem with the difficulty won't be the hard AI's but the fact that the basic strategies that gamers use against the civ and moo games will get you killed here. The fact of starbases and

I have played several games where the only military buildup I had was defenders(the lowest ship class) on my planet, and pretty much left it at that. You can win on fairly high levels if you know how to work the diplomacy system.......destabilization is a useful tool here.......
note on Freelancer.....its entirely mouse based.....no joystick support. :(
Color changing the fonts would be nice, I know a lot of people who are colorblind to the color blue, and the blue on blue text in some of the screens is hard for them to read......
The trick to cultural victory is not to establish very many cultural starbases in foreign lands, but concentrate on the cultural/economy resources, cultural wonders, and economy upgrades. When you get Cultural Maximizing then build 8 constructors and send them all at once and land them all in the same sector at the same time....while you are doing that you can destabilize them or perhaps goad them into war with somebody else. the +500% boost can overwhelm them before they know what h
You are promoted on the basis of the kind of effective help you give toward the game. The people who get promoted the most are the ones who provide the most effective help to the game and to stardock. Bug fixes, attitude, suggestions, ideas, support and encouragement all count here. The issue here is quality not quantity, though.
I mean the AI.....
Well, it turns out it can invade planets.....it just takes 250 turns to do it........ ;)
You will succeed........this game will grow on people..........but I think its how we are treated as gamers that keeps us here the most.....we WANT you to succeed because in our hearts we know your vision is the right thing to put our efforts behind.......
I've been in gaming since the early 80s, and this is the 'good stuff' right here.........
I thought about doing that! With cultural Maximizing tech you can get a +500% cultural bonus, just sweep through the sector and sweep up planets......coool......
The cut-scenes are world class, like the most intros to games. But the real class comes in the balance that has come to the AI, and its depth. Also I like the little touches to the diplomacy and to the interface, like the modifications to the planet list screen which makes life a lot easier. This is definitely what TBS gamers wanted.......
Congrats, you're going to kick butt......if there is a perfect time to go gold its now.....God be with you.........
Look at the various text files in the /data subdirectories of your drengin direcotry. check the wonders.imp file or the *.upissue files(look on the debug file in the galciv directory). On some of the text files the end upissue or the end improvement are spelled wrong. on mine it was the wonders.imp, at the very end of the file.....it was spelled end improvementprovement when it was supposed to say end improvement.
The game is much harder........cultural conquest is much more of a bear to deal with........the intro page worked fine for me, and the animations finally worked(they hadn't up to this point). The tech tree is very well laid out, as are the planets........I've only played a little bit and the quality of depth is much better.
no the site must be reviewing the wrong game...........
interesting ideas........... I didn't know all of the answers to this one, but I thought there were a couple of good ideas in it: "can you kick someone out of the united planets? ban them for a period of time, as a sort of trade embargo? why can you not trade with others who aren't in the United planets? surely it should be possible to create your own "federation of united planet haters" or somesuch thing?" from http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&
That is a very powerful idea....the idea that your research in various fields affects the quality of the PEOPLE that serve under you, not just the mechanisms and structures themselves. If the information systems that you have are bad then your decisions will be on the basis of faulty information. For example the Japanese didn't have radar during WWII, so their judgements were based on reconnaisance from scout planes. That lack, in part, would keep them one step behind the Americans and
This sounds teriffic.....Its the small touches I love the best........
Perhaps large civilizations having a sympathetic ear to a particular minor race, so that if anyone attacks them they would warn them to stop, or attack them for doing so. It might be interesting for minor races to have an two extra bonuses, one random and one diplomatic(+20) in the beginning. This would serve two purposes: 1. it would give them a leg up in surviving attacks from larger empires(they never seem to make it to endgame)2. People like me wouldn't be able to get as much mon
When I say 'The AI' I mean the AI's of other strategy games over the years......This AI is much improved over the rest..............
