CTD bug in 1.0[rc].047 in starting game

Since I updated to the above version when I attempt to start a game it crashes to desktop. This happens right after I select the galaxy size and AI difficulty then the opening animations play then CTD. Unfortunatly this happens everytime and I am unable to even start a game. If I try to reload a saved game the progress bar loads to 100% then CTD!

It works fine on my notebook. I suspect the problem maybe related to the intro media clip.

I thought so also. I uninstalled the game then reinstalled it without the multimedia content. It still CTD's at the same place.

Look at the various text files in the /data subdirectories of your drengin direcotry. check the wonders.imp file or the *.upissue files(look on the debug file in the galciv directory).

On some of the text files the end upissue or the end improvement are spelled wrong.

on mine it was the wonders.imp, at the very end of the file.....it was spelled end improvementprovement when it was supposed to say end improvement.
