Maybe the official term isn't Netlag but the idea behind the word is the same. The game slows down everyones connections to the point where they seem to be at 350ms in Demigod. So for all players with a stable internet connection, ping anywhere below 350 will have a near equal chance to lag less because of the ping. Ping above 350 all have a greater and greater chance to lag. But a player with 300ms and 100ms both have th

The ability to play with a buddy in pantheon would indeed be greatly appreciated... There are a lot of gaming communities, gaming buddies or even gaming couples out there looking for games to play together. Custom games work for that in Demigod of course, but still its a bit limiting being able to play *only* custom games together. The very problem with custom games is that opponents are currently not paired up according to skill levels so a huge amount of matches

A shield spamming QoT is quite OP imo, but otherwise she's quite worthless.
Heh yeah... in a dedicated team support role QoT can have an impact on a game that blows anything that Reg can do out of the water lol. I'm collecting achievements right now, so got to get some pl

i still get games where it doesn't connect at all. (Connection dialogue is stuck without finding/displaying any players) However, this week was the first week where i actually got past the lobby and into a working game at all (since release). So i must say i am at least somewhat delighted to finally have gotten to play at all. ;) Keep up the good work LOL!

Finding a suitable match, please wait... followed by "the connection service has failed" also getting the "you have been kicked" message that other people have posted above occasionally. After about 40-60 minutes it finally started a pantheon game. But it was only 3 players.... 2v1. So one player left after 2-3 minutes. Right afterwards the game detected a "Desync" to the remaining player. Appreciate the effo
Am I the only one who hates the way in video game terms 'heavy role playing elements' or 'rpg elements' means that the characters level up and get new skills/stats? It's nothing to do with role playing in my opinion and it's sort of an abortion of the term.
Oh it is pretty much, but that is hardly Demigods or even the reviewers fault. The evolution of the "RPG" term is of course closely tied to the evolution

This (referring to the original post) is almost as bad as the PvP message boards on some MMOs were at release. "Wahhhhh i got ganked by class X! Class X is overpowered!!!". Get over it. It's also pretty obvious that, while one can certainly discuss the relative balance of "Bite" in such detail... this one skill will hardly hardly matter on the scale suggested by the OP. I.e. "Erebus is always the one that kills me!" lol. ...
There's depths in every game, it's just that you really notice it or not.
Eh... Pong ?:) LOL... well i would agree in so far that "most" games have much more depth than the average player notices, quite often leading to ironic posts where the same person complains that the game sucks so much because a.) it is so shallow and b.) they lose all the time :p
Except that's kind of the point. The better players should be able to develop a clear advantage over worse players over the course of the game, and eventually crush them. Otherwise, what's the point of playing well? In DotA, strong items do make a huge difference, but you need to play well in order to get them before your opponents, so skill is still a huge factor.
Now this i w
Quoting Gnats3, reply 3 There were some references to Occulus in the early beta files (spell lists and stuff) that weren't there for the others, so probably him. The steampunk-looking falconer-woman looks like a General so maybe her too. Oh yeah. I want some fast falcon minions to chase runners. So I hope her. But then again, she might not be a gen
Ahhh okay now I get it. You're one of those "strategy is the only thing that ought to matter" people. Sorry, but micro and tactics are what make a game competitive. Anybody can study a strategy and learn it, memorize it. Turn based games give you all the time in the world to make decisions. RTS games force you to make decisions quickly, far more quickly than you can possibly make them without making mis
DalzK" reply="4" id="2099846"] Starcraft takes "Skill" and practice to play, no one argues that,... but what it doesn't do, is offer a lot of strategic depth . Care to expand. As far as I know it offers the most strategic depth that a rts has so far.
DalzK" reply="25" id="2099216"] the simple truth is that it isn't 1998 anymore. Are you sure? Its the most played RTS game in the whole word and it is widely accepted it has the most depth and the largest competitive scene.
Depth? sure... , but what kind of "depth" ? tactical sure,... micro certainly. I don't think there was another game yet that thrived so much off micro like Starcraft did. Starcraft takes "Skill" and practi
@Mike: I think you severely underestimate the DotA playerbase; it's much larger than you think. Apparently you have something against DotA, but I can assure you, given the amount of people that play it (and have played it) on a regular basis, there is no way that it would fail as a commercial game if it were given the same budget and development time that most commercial games receive. That, I believe, was the idea in c

That has always been my point. Organized teams with vent or TS will roll any pickup team. To me that seems the greatest hurdle to the sucess of this game, some teams will be so good they will make playing unfun to the majority of other players.<br
It seems like most RTS now all try to do something interesting or different, most often by simplifying / dumbing down the game and making it more action-packed and flashy to try and draw in the FPS crowd. SC2 is sticking to what made the original so great, while adding plenty of new content and improving on the few things that weren't so great about the original. Considering that SC was arguably (and widely regarded as)
