Exactly. It's the difference between the question, "What are the odds of flipping 'heads' a tenth time in a row?'" and the question, "What are the odds of flipping 'heads' ten times in a row?" The first deals only with a single event: the tenth flip of a coin. The second deals with a series of events: Ten flips of a coin. The single event, the tenth flip of a coin, still has odds of 50%, even if all previous flips were heads. But the series of events,

Great thing about probability is that it's always probable! That above is a false situation as the only % chance is the first 20% one. Each time it is 20%, you can't add them together! And I thought I was bad at maths! I bet that overall, your math is just fine. But in this particular situation, I'm afraid you're wrong. When there are multip
Stardock, you my boys, alright? I wrote a little something down there, and it's going to sound critical, because it is. But that's all it is, just criticism. It's written out of the honest frustration of playing GalCiv2, and it's all meant in good fun. So please don't ban me. The flames of the uber-loyal fans will surely suffice as punishment. ---------------------- Stardock: The Deli *door jingles* Clerk: Welcome to Stardock! What can I make for you today?
I don't know about "getting a whole chest"of anything, especially if you're looking to get stuff for free, but the Battlestar Galactica (new series) soundtrack for the miniseries and season one are out. I own and highly recommend buying both of them. I've already incorporated the songs into the music and music event folder myself, and it does greatly improve the experience for me. I do, however, have to disable and then reenable 'background music' in o
For whatever reason, this doesn't work for me at all. I'm not new to file editing, and because of the generous help of yourself and others , I've been able to completely replace the default Altarian-style Colony Ship, Constructor, and Transport with those of my own design. I've also replaced all the freighters. By editing RaceConfig I've also managed to finally r
Don't know exactly how easy/difficult these ones would be: Binary star systems? We’ve established that there are several star models, which is very awesome. I’m especially a fan of the purple and blue stars, along with the fact that they’re all animated. So could be possible, then, to occasionally have the single ‘star parsec’ occupied by not one star, but by two small stars orbiting one another? Just to add some flavor. It might
Hopefully, this is an easy one: In the Ship Builder, it'd be great to have mock Engines, mock Weapons, and mock Modules available in the 'Extras' tab. They'd use the same models as their real couterparts, but be just for show. The problem I forsee for this tweak would be having an overabundance of models to chose from in a single tab. This problem could be lessened by only adding the mock versions when their counterparts become a
