I think many people are unaware of the massive time and expense it takes to create a title such as this. Sure there are bugs, fixes, balancing and improved AI needed but look at what we have! The game is awesome and its potential is EXCITING! :) I have purchased every gal civ release since the original. I was a huge fan of Masters of Orion which lead me to Gal CIv. Looking forward to the patches and DLC content. Frogboy ... One day I would love to see

I am a huge GalCiv fan. I've been watching and waiting. I do not want to play the game until it is a finely polished, released, diamond. AI is critical. Very pleased to read this latest post. I love massive map games with about 10 races. Custom races are also very important to me. I much prefer designing a unique race to a spacecraft. Keep up the great work. -Marz
Great, thank you.
Thank you very much. What and where is this XML file he is talking about? First of all, go to either C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods or C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods . Once in there, create a folder for your mod. So now you have, for example, GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods\YourModFolder. Then, in that folder, put the attached xml file <s
Yeah, I had to add to the PoliticalParties.XML located GalCiv2>>DarkAvatar>>Data>>English. I save a copy of all of my mod stuff so if SD writes over it I can simply paste it back again. As for the party logos I coppied the Govermants folder and dropped it in the GFX Twlight mod folder so the graphics are safe there. I gave up on the HWPQ and just went with an overall PQ bonus and it seems to work well. I have tested it using many different senerios. Now i

Thank you, I actually got it working but there's still one major problem. I can't get the +1 (or +10%) to home planet quality to work. I increased the default value of all the home worlds to 12 and I changed the earth-like class range to 10-19. and eden to 20 - 99. So I added a bonus of 1 to (30) (home planet quality) but it never worked. I then tried 10 thinking that 30's units may be in % but that never worked either. I made the penalty a -10 moral hit. I can't figure
Thank you. I reinstalled and everything is fine.
Hi I am attempting to make a couple political parties for Twilight of the Arnor. I chose to start with the Environmentalists party. I made a nice PNG using PS and I altered the following code. I am at a loss however as to where exactly to put them. I could not find a Political Parties XML file in either expansion so I first tried altering the original one in GalcivII simply by adding my code at the end, but before the closi
I have 2.02 as I installed directly from Impulse. I can't figure it out. I do not see any updates on the impulse site. I only see the full game downloads which makes me think that they keep that version updates. I also experience crashes from time-to-time. I am using an Acer laptop, dual core duo 2ghz, Vista Home Premium 64 bit, Nvidia 9600 and 4 gigs of ram.
I noticed in the manual for Twilight it mentions that you can set the anount of toxic planets etc via the Hazard Environment Planets setting, yet I cannot find this setting anywhere. Anyone know as I'd love to turn them down a bit.
Here we go again. I had a ton of trouble with the last expansion crashing. I just started a game on TotA and I decided to change races so I went to the main menu and selected New game. I was just rechecking all of my settings on the first page and boom. Twilight of mthe Arnor has stopped working. Yes I am using the most updated drivers. Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071009-1548) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Ma
I want to purchse the game but I can't until the recommened system specs are out as my laptop only has a Go8400 with 128 memory. The rest of my system is good(2 ghz dual core, 2 gigs ram, 140 gig 7800 rpm hard drive running Vista Home Premium.
Yeah, why are they not posted?
OK Now you just have to make Gal Civ ONLINE!!!!
I am also unable to find any debug files.
I recently purchaced and installed GalCiv II Dark Avat. For some reason the game ramdomly crashes every few hours. Vista reports that Gal Civ Dark Ava has stopped working. I spent all day yesterday talking with a Customer service rep in order to get the game to install properly and then once I got it working I soon found a bug (if you modify a preexisting class as your race it saves that race as your default custom race and there is no way to reset it without going and deleteing your ini file).
Thank you This bug should be fixed.
I started a new game of Dark Avatar by selecting the YOr as my race. I then wanted to change a few of the Yors features. Like ship appearance and race color. Now when I go to start a new game and I choose the custom race it has the Yor as the default and I am unable to choose my Techs or Super Ability. I can't reset the custom race. I hit clear but that did not work either.
I love supcom it works on my laptop which is more than I can say for Galciv 2.
I bought Gal Civ II on release and installed it on my HP Pavilion zv5000. I have 1 gig of ram with 125 shared with GPU. AS soon as I make a custom race and then hit next whamo blue screen of death. I have never had trouble with any game before hand on this laptop. I installed the game on my desktop and it ran fine. The laptop has ATI Mobility Radeon 9000/9100 IGP. Now I have waited since release for a patch to fix this issue. Today I reinstalled the game and downloaded all the patches from stard
