I'd like to have an improvement available based on having researched two techs that are not on the same branch of the tech tree. I've tried two "S_TechRequirement" tags and comma delimiting techs within a single tag. Any insights?

Point well made. However, the issue still stands that the sentence is less than clear as stated unless one is already aware of the possibility of surrender to a third party: "...surrender to you rather than...when they've decided to surrender." for example.
The description for "Hall of Empathy" reads: "This Galactic Achievement doubles the odds that alien civilizations will surrender to you when they decide to surrender." It might be more clearly phrased: "This Galactic Achievement doubles the odds that alien civilizations will surrender to you when they consider surrender." They're deciding *whether* to surrender. If they've already decided to surrender, there'
To clarify, "ships" is a directory, not a file. You have a standard "Documents" directory in Windows. There's a "My Games" folder in it. There's a "galcivs2" directory within that. That's where you'll find the "ships" directory within which to put your new files.
Yay! It updated! But, is there an intended schedule? Weekly? Every other Tuesday that's an odd numbered date? On nights Starbuck says "frack" while drunk?
I uploaded revised versions of a couple of minor mods, not thinking that the approval process would be triggered again, but then…limbo. And it’s been a week. What’s the schedule? I’ll be overjoyed if it’s because there’s so much in the pipeline waiting to be reviewed!
When I upgrade a ship and keep its name, I get the option to upgrade all the ships of that type at once. If I change the name at all — say from "…Mk I" to "…Mk II" — I don’t get that option. Is there any way to update all ships of a type if the name of the upgraded design is different? EDIT: Nevermind. I found it. (Get to the "Detail" screen of a ship of the type you want to upgrade, and find the check box that allows for the upgrading of a
Update: I’m consistently unable to upgrade ships created in previous games. I have to recreate each design from scratch for each game. (I hope this gets fixed pretty quickly.)
Okay, now the "Turn" button disappears after clicking and won't re-appear no matter the level of zoom. Just an FYI!
I’ve noticed two problems with the v1.1 beta, and they may be related. First, after clicking "Turn" while zoomed out to get a wide view of my burgeoning empire, the button disappears and doesn’t come back. I assume this may have to do with trying to process too many objects in the field of view, but I’m just guessing. Initially, I’d get around this by doing a "Quick Save", quitting, and then loadin

I’m loving the 1.1 beta so far! I’ve always wanted to concentrate on things other than trade and bartering, and with tech trading disabled I’m able to assimilate my neighbors in true self-sustaining imperial fashion without falling behind the research curve. Great option! I haven’t given the ship builder a workout since the upgrade, but it’s looking good. I hope to be able — down the line — to design ships as one race and play them as another if they u
Does anyone know how to create ships and let the other races use the saved designs? Currently, even if another race uses the same ship style as the race that created the saved ship class it won’t be available.
My two cents. I tend to play this as a certain well known warrior race.
No crashes with v1.0X running through both processors after a double digit number of hours of play. All better now! (Created a couple of custom political parties -- mirroring standard ones but with boosts to research added -- to counter tech trading until v1.1 is out.)
Hmm - I don't have to run the game only on one processor... and I have basically the same setup as you with the exception of my use of an nVIDIA card instead of ATI. I see your game version is not the most up-to-date. Have you tried patching that yet? Interesting. I just bought the game and immediately patched to what I thought was
I am running a dual AMD Athlon MP machine and can run the game fine. Like the others say here, patching is a good thing. Hey all, thanks! The video drivers are December's and the sound card drivers are the latest available for the card. Fortunately, setting the processor affinity to use the second CP
No, two AMD CPUs doesn't equal dual core. Two AMD CPUs = dual cpu. A dual-core processor is two cores within one package. Furthermore, most software licenses work based off of physical processors, not logical processors, so a dual-core processor still counts as one physical processor (hence you can run both cores on a XP Home in
Okay, this game is completely addictive. (I haven’t seen the wife in days. Oddly, she doesn’t seem to mind.) But I do have an occasional problem: Windows will throw a "Memory cannot be read" error and the game will crash to the desktop. Not a big deal as the auto save is always recent, but still. Any insights? The contents of the file "debug.err" follow: Debug Message: Version v1.0D-1 Digital: Bonus Pack last updated
