arstal, the thing is its not a preference thing. Eventually overtime the military starbase will be exploited and that will be the only way to do battle. If simplicity is correct in his accessment of how starbases work based on hull size then it is grossly imbalanced.

I believe the mission makes clear that you are supposed to avoid the dread lords. Im at this mission too but haven't given it a seriou sattempt yet. after a certain period the dread lords will attack your planets, but I believe the technologies you have (or the ones close by) will be sufficient to ward off the dread lords that attack you. I know when they attaked they had like 10 troops but had a massive advantage of like 790 to 3 or something so my

The poster before me is right, individual sliders are a bad idea. Forced micromanagement was the main reason MOO III failed so miserably. This issue is really scratching the surface of a huge tension in 4x games. In the beginning everyone wants to micromanage there planets. Once you have like 5, 10, or even 20 planets though you have absolutely no interest in mcroing them all. If you're anything like me you don't want to feel like you "should" be microing them. I actually htink its fine if thats the way it works, but over time people are going to discover the "right" way to abuse it. I mean it "seems" like min/maxing is the best strategy now, you get a certain tech level and htne you punch your social slider way up to fill your planets with social stuff, then when you reacha critical mass of social projects finishing you slide it way down and buy the rest. I admit I'm incredibly new to this, as I'm sure most of us are, but can someone explain why idle hammers are not converted to bc? Idle shields appear to be. However, if I have a plent which has no social projects the hammers on that planet do not appear in paranthesis and are still costing me 1bc per hammer.
