I managed to fix this problem by uninstalling catalyst controll centre and all the current drivers then scrubbing the from the registry with driver cleaner pro http://www.overclock.net/downloads/138459-driver-cleaner-pro.html and then reinstalling the latest drivers. The games looks so nice now. Too bad I still can't connect to games.
I cranked everything down to low and turned off A.I. I can play the game now. I seems good. It's extremely galling to miss out on the game's good looks though. Especially on powerful machine.
I just downloaded Demigod from Impluse and (excited) tried to play the game. Every time I start a game the graphics bug out and I get tons of artifacts then the game crashes. Ususally this happens between 10 seconds and a minute after I start the game. I've updated my drivers and done all the usual stuff including trying the various fixes and tricks on various forums.
