I'm going to host a live feed of a random game at 5:45PM EST, and afterwards I'll be randomly giving away a coupon code to anyone that participates in this thread. You can view the live stream on Xfire by installing the browser plugin which works on both IE and Firefox. The direct link to my feed is: http://www.xfire.com/live_video/themystic0/ If you are interested in the code, please say so in a reply.&nb
I know that in most games if you point push with a friend or exploit any other methods that artificially boost your rank in a competitive ladder that it results in at the very least a wipe, and at worst a serial key ban. Stardock has already said though that there should be some sort of stat wipe down the road, so this guys time will already be lost once that happens. Good detective work though![e digicons][/e]

I have always enjoyed the voice acting of TB actually. I usually focus on voicework far less though while actually playing.
Well, this is certainly enlightening. I had an opponent calling me a back-dooring cheater constantly, saying that he was going to have me banned. I was the Torch Bearer, and was only freezing the towers to cap rear flags. I had no idea that DotA folks found this to be an exploit, how strange. In my opinion, such a tactic doesn't even come close to being an exploit. All capturable flags are fair game.
I've been having horrible experiences with TB. There is absolutely no benefit to mixing fire and ice spells. The best you can get out of it is to commit to just one form, meaning you only ever actually have 3 abilities and the fact that you can't shoot while moving in fire form continues to make it frustrating. It's no wonder UB and Erebus are over-used.
I'm back to a hybrid build, and I usually end up putting poin
Constructive criticism goes a lot further than a rant which attacks others. If you feel that Erebus was nerfed too hard, please explain why. From my point of view, the specific changes were about as minimal as they could have been. Bite is still a very solid skill.
Nice guide, very well done. :)
Frogboy definitely knows his stuff in this game, this is the second time I've seen him as Oak where he kicked major butt. In regards to feedback, I've taken some of it to heart no doubt, although I think my main mission was pointing out that this didn't play like my regular games, and I had no way of knowing that I'd be so gold starved. I am back to a hybrid build though, but only with fireball instead of the health tree. I forgot how handy having a fireball on top of ice
Newbie question - does playing online with the new patch still require port forwarding ? Thanks in advance for any replies.
Yes, you'll definitely want to forward your ports in order to direct connect to others (versus having to attempt a NAT connection).
To those advocating strict moderation--for years we've made it a point to be as hands-off as possible while still encouraging users to be civil with each other. Moving to start tossing out bans every time someone is impolite would be a pretty major shift, and I don't see things going that far. And for those suggesting it, no, 4chandom is not something for any community to aspire to.
Kryo, not sure if you had read my pos
Tidus - yes d0, and it's at 3.3ghz even though it is capable of much more. I'd rather ensure the most stability than push it to the limits. Steel - Fraps set at full res 30fps. Wmnmkh - I've used them in the past few games, they seem ok but I'm usually aware enough to not need the extra +5 vision. I've been waiting to see what happens when you expose mines though, as in if you can attack them or not. Jager- Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I'd say m
Are you running the latest beta patch? It has improved connectivity a lot. In-game lag spikes are the fault of the player in almost all cases. You can email if you want to inquire about a refund though.
There is no doubt always hostile members of a community, even those who really enjoy getting on the nerves of others. I have seen several methods to deal with this, from heavy fisted to extremely lax. I personally moderate for both 2K and EA and their communities, and each company has a completely different viewpoint on how to handle things. I've also been an administrator of several other game related communities, and what I've typically seen is that in
In the last Panth season, I had 4 losses appear that never happened, plus I somehow came up showing 6 disconnects. I think for now we just have to wait for the kinks to be worked out of Panth game tracking and favor.
wnmnkh - Just curious, how would the totem have helped? There were not any regulus (mines) / erebus (shroud) players. Consumables were limited by the low gold income unfortunately. Des - this game did not represent my item build at all. Again, low gold income, this is not what I'm used to.&nb
The main problem was gold flow wasn't sufficient, there were far fewer kills that normal mainly due to the QoT shield. I don't normally save up for that chest plate right away, and I do normally get some consumables. There was just not enough cash flow, and based off the kills I usually get I don't need to pay for gold from the mines. None of the players in the game were able to predict the future. Also, how often do you see a QoT in a 2v2? Very rarely, shie
Thanks again for the feedback and advice everyone. The Youtube links are all finished processing now, so you can watch them in either SD or HD. I'll leave the direct download link up as well if you'd like, along with the replay file. To Darth, once in awhile I'll do a hybrid build, but I find typically for tank purposes it's usually better to get that extra HP, Mana, Regen, and Damage from the health tree. Mana regen is really only an issue early to mid game. B
I am half way through the game.. and there are a few things you needed to do. 1) You should have obtained the regen tower immediately. 2) Get gold second. You would've had all the armor you have at this point plus some extra gold. You are also more of a support class, you are supposed to help oak freeze enemies to get more kills. I am still watching.
I figured Brad would have grabbed regen, but it didn
I'll leave the lower res stuff to Youtube I think. I'm uploading videos to Youtube for the second time actually, since my first encode was at 1080P but Youtube resized it to the point that it looked extremely crunched and awkward. I'll have to see how this second batch looks, otherwise I'll just encode at a 480P equivalent resolution and put it up for direct download.
I recorded a game with Frogboy (Brad Wardell - CEO of Stardock) last night, and figured I'd put it up for you folks to check out. We had a two versus two match shortly after the latest beta patch was released, and the game was surprisingly good. It is 43 minutes in length, and in high definition. I have a direct download link up right now with it in 720P HD, however the file size is 1.8GB (yes, GB). If you would like to direct download the video via right-click
Zero - practice always makes perfect. I suggest saving replays of games too, especially if you lose. Then watch the replays and observe a bit in regards to what your opponent was doing. If I had to try to simplify things, I'd say that you should always remember these things : 1. As Craig said, if you expand, make sure to upgrade the civ infrastructure on your planets and asteroids. 2. Remember that you get one free capital ship at the start of the game. This is r
Sadmonk - I'd imagine that you're sad because it's difficult to play Sins without your eyes. Freak accident? I kid, I kid! :)
