Watch never worked for me. I'll jump on this bandwagon. I agree that the forum is not the best. Would much prefer a civ4 or x3 style forum.

Following up from my previous post. After I noticed that my sound problems lessened when I set the sound hardware accelerator in dxdiag off I went ahead and reinstalled windows XP. It worked and now the sound is fine. It is alot of work, 18 critical updates just to get SP 2. 36 critical updates immediately follow. Then more yet. Not to forget drivers and the rest. But now the sound works, like the rest of my games.
I reinstalled windows (c drive) now the game (g drive) gives me the product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match. How do I get the game running again?

I agree, a more standard forum layout would help, something like civ4/X3.
You have "no sound card" and yet "the sound kept going"; maybe I'll take out mine too and get better sound
I've got skipping/jumpy sound too. Starts right in w/ the intro and does it during the tutorials too. I've escaped out of both the intro and tutorials unable to take the pain. Its annoying me. I haven't played it cause of this. Haven't had any sound problems in the past, including recent games like civ4 and X3 reunion. Any ideas? I'm getting jerky audio where the sound skips or stops. It happens from the beginning movie ( got so bad I had to skip it cause I couldn't understand it). It happened in the one tutorial I tried (started and skipped again). Setting aa to 0 didn't help. Never had audio problems in any game before, including recent games like civ 4 and X3 reunion. I've got xp 3000, 9800 pro 128, 1 gig ram, c-media audio. You guys have any ideas?
