Going to get flamed for it and accused of being a troll but I'm inclined to say the Advent are overpowered compared to The TEC and The Vasari.

Well its a great game and everyone has ideas of what they think will make it better, some of which seem overly critical but... I'd like better defences, I know some sort of starbase is probably out of the question but maybe beef up existing defences. I agree with most of the PJI points also. You guys probably spent ages balancing them but I think both Pirates and Culture seem weak. Theres probably no way to enforce fleet balance but it would be nice rat

Just a quick sidetrack, but any tips playing as TEC vs Advent Edit: Oh wait already asked, I just suck as TEC vs Advent... I'm good vs Varsai.

My reasoning for switching to the Marza was at early levels it seems to out perform the Kol and I think Marzas can duke it out better with other Capital ships. Akkans seem to be another good choice, I've seen some people go the carrier / bomber fleet route also.
thats why my fleet was WAITING for the siege spam attack. Failure number 1. Later on there was an occurance where my fleet was a few systems away when the siege spam arrived AGAIN and my defenses did nothing to stop the killing of my capital. This ALSO happened. Failure number 2. Failure to deal with problem after initial, identical failure. You survived, why did yo
I wasn't talking in theory. I've done it. I do agree with you that they shoudl be nerfed but I know what I just wote works.
I'm not saying it didn't work for you and I really dont like to complain but in a lot of situations now I've had a fully upgraded planet, with heavy defences which have intersecting rings of fire and are fully upgraded. I've also have a decent fleet station just as they come out of
Leave it, please! I don't want the enemy to only use predictable attacks; when I was playing earlier I never expected him to do that. For me, it happened about an hour into the game; so I could send my secondary attack force to deal with them. By the time I was able to react, jump 3 planets and jump them I had like 2 planets (and losing the third). It wasn't hard to kill them off :/ So leave it; it's fun!
It is a

I was thinking that there are two ways to go in my opinion a large space base, that would be manned or some sort of unmanned global orbital defence satellites, either way I think it should be very expensive but capable of taking on a capital ship or two with support fleets. Again balance is an issue but presumably any advanced civilisation would have heavy defences, the light ones just don't seem up to it even if you beef them up.

A better defence structure would be a solution. I tend to like heavy defences though so I'm probably biased. Its seems to me both that hangers and turrets and are for light defence and are easily dealt with. I know the response to this is going to be 'station fleets around planets' but heavy defence structures, hell even medium seem like a more practical and cost effective method.
